Aiden Williamson

It was strangely beautiful, spilling secrets to strangers on a night full of stars and a beautiful moon. I knew nothing about her but still talking to her about me was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw her sitting in darkness with a little moonlight falling onto her. She told me she was afraid of darkness yet she found peace in it.

I don't talk to anyone about me, not even Terry but tonight she was an exception.

Giving her something she has good memories with, proved to be a great idea to apologize for my behavior with her. I didn't want to shout at her, but I did and that made me angry at myself more than that Danny. But now everything was cleared. I guess.

She was sitting in front of me and felt good. I gave her some truth, and she regarded me with hers. She talked about her childhood with Mrs. Pumpkin Pie. Her childhood was not all rainbows or sunshine but still, I saw a light lit in her eyes as she talked about it.

The whole moment was beautiful with her, the light from the moon falling onto her skin and shining in her eyes; the way our eyes met felt strangely beautiful.

I wished I could freeze this moment with her but that was short-lived. A gunshot brought me back to my senses.

It was a loud gunshot; we both jumped and stood in our places.

"Stay here" I whispered to her while walking towards the door.

"No," she said I turned my head towards her, "You don't have a gun" she added and she was right I left the gun in my room while picking up her gift. "Don't worry a spare gun lies in my office, I'll get it" I assured her but that was useless, "wait" she said and went into the walk-in closet.

Just in a breath, she came back with two knives in her hand, "You stole the knife from the warehouse?" I asked recognizing the blades. "I just borrowed it now it!" she said calmly passing by me but I grabbed her hand.

"You are out going out!" I warned her. "I'm not letting you go out alone!" she fired back meeting her brown eyes with a warning written all over her face. I gave up and let her come with me, "But stay behind me" I said opening the door and she followed.

The corridor was so silent that I could hear hazel breaths. I walked silently in the silence so did she.

I walked towards my office and grabbed the only gun from there.

"Here have it" I tried to give the gun to her but she refused to take it, "I'm more comfortable with blades" She took the blade from me.

"It's useless to walk together, I think you should go and search downstairs while I look for others," she said but I grabbed her again before she could go with her plan.

"You are not going anywhere. Just follow me!"

"Aiden we have to find the source of that gunshot before we hear another!" I didn't leave her.

"Trust me I will be fine," she said assuring me with her eyes.

"Okay then take the gun," I said and handed her the gun while taking one blade from her.

"You go and look for Mariana," I said and she nodded.

I walked downstairs slowly not making any sound. As I reached the kitchen, I heard someone moving, I positioned the blade into my hand, and with a swift motion I grabbed his neck, "It's me, Terry!" Terry said just before I was going to break his neck. " What are you doing in her?"

"I heard a gunshot so I followed the noise," he said panting. "Did you find where it came from?" I asked him while giving him a water bottle.

"No, but I found one of our guards lying dead at the entrance"

Who in the world dared to barge into my house? I cursed under my breath.

I picked the blade from the counter and walked into the hall while Terry was following me.

Again I sensed a sudden moment and I threw my blade right into a silhouette and it did stab someone, I took the gun from Terry's hand and rushed towards the crying men.

The blade was struck into his chest just above his heart, I pointed the gun at him, "Who sent you, and why the hell did you barge into my house at his hour?" I was frustrated.

"We were told to collect information on you," he said without any fight. "Fucking Russian!" I found out because of his thick Russian accent.

"Where are your rest of men?"

"Upstairs"

HAZEL WAS UPSTAIRES TOO!

As I was processing this I heard another gunshot

A cold wave of horror ran through my veins.

I ran towards her. I should have never left her alone! I don't know why but I was scared, scared for her

I took three stairs at once, racing towards the sound from my office.

As I opened the door I saw her, dripping the blood.
