CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN

My heart was beating insanely in my rib cage as I walked down the stairs towards the party "Everything will be okay tonight" I tried to assure myself with each step I took but all my efforts were failing.
I am not going to lie but I was scared for tonight.
I knew this day would come eventually when I had to experience my nightmares in reality one day we had to face Dmitry but now when the day has a right something in me wants to run away.
Again.
Apart from me was not ready to see him again, I.. just. I am afraid to relive my past again.
I am afraid I could not make out alive this time. But the other part of me craved revenge.
"everything will be ok tonight" I reminded myself one last time as we walked down the last step of the stairs
"everything will be fine" Aiden pated on my hand which was holding on to him lia ttle tightly and assured me, practically sensing my changed behavior.
the only thing that gave me courage tonight was him and I hated myself for that.
he was the one who was going to ruin my old plans tonight by making an Allie with Dmitry and I wanted to hate him for that but I just couldn't.
I wanted to hate him as he was going to join hands with my enemy but my so-called hatred flew out of the window and I saw him at the door of my room.
when I unknowingly opened the door he was standing there ready to knock. once our eyes met, something changed in me.
His blue eyes always give me a sense of relief
He wore a wine-colored tuxedo paired with a black shirt glancing through his unbuttoned blazer.
His hair shining in n light brown color, his sharp jawline, and the innocent smile on his blushing lips always make me forget about my surroundings.
I'm afraid all these unnecessary emotions are making me weak.
but fortunately, everything will change tonight.
tonight will give me a reason to hate him maybe after tonight I will feel less guilty about not telling him the truth. at least the burden of lying to him will go but...

why it doesn't feel okay?...

the idea of hating him is somewhere hurting me.
" you don't have time for this" demons inside Me mocked.
"Tonight is very crucial for me" I remind myself I don't have time to think about anything other than the plan of getting out of here.
I have to get out of this party to return the sixth Monster of my Nightmare to hell.
as I was thinking about all of this my phone buzzed in my hand.
I excused myself Aiden as he was busy talking to someone and walked towards the bar.

EZAR: I'm here.

I looked around to find him but another message popped up.

EZAR: I'm outside in my car watching through the cameras. I presumed your boyfriend would recognize me even in the mask.

ME: good. Thank God you still use your brain.

EZAR: screw your talks we don't have time remember! My men are mixed up in the party crowd. Just one command and they will ready to serve you Grey.

Grey..I remembered who was I.
His calling me grey reminded me of the days when Dmitry used to send both of us to his undercover missions.

ME: how will I recognise them?

EZAR: red masks

ME: got it.

I did a quick survey of the hall and spotted four- five red masked men.
Suddenly The bartender slided a drink I never asked for.

There was a Bluetooth earpiece under the glass.

ME: you came fully prepared. I'm impressed!

EZAR: just put the earpiece in your ear!
I set the earpiece in my ear and hid it with my hair.

"Can you hear me? Nodd twice" he said and I did.

"Good"

" Now listen. According to my sources, Dmitry is coming with two of his recent most trusted men and an army of bodygard..."

I listen every bit of the details Ezar gave me carefully not to miss anything. Just one careless mistake could get me caught or even dead!

"Everything will be fine numbnuts" he finished his speech.

"everything has to be fine" I try to speak without getting caught.

" hey! There you are. Why are you sitting alone" Marry startled me.
" oh, I don't know anyone" I babbled whatever came into my mind.
" don't worry then I'll not leave you tonight" she said and to take a seat beside me.
shit!
" what drink will you like" she asked
"I'll take Martini" I said
"you know what? you were right! about my hair I got a lot of complement till now" she said excitedly while I half smiling took a the sip of my drink.

I'm screwed!

I spend 10 minutes listening all her talks.
The time was running out. I have to do something!

"How could you bear her!" Ezar shouted on the earpiece making me choke on my drink.

"Is everything okay?" Mary asked worriedly.

"Yeah! Yeah I'm fine" I said.

I have to do something!
Now!

And there it is!
I intentionally slipped the drink on me.
Not a great idea but it worked.

" Oh shittt!" Mary jumped on her sit, and started grabbing some tissue paper from the counter.

" Are you okay!?" She asked.
" Yeah I'm fine. I wasn't paying attention. It's my fault!" I said facking my expressions.

" No worries, let's go upstairs and clean it" she said.

Well that what I wanted to hear!

" No it's fine! I'll go and clean it" I said.

" No no let me come with you." She argued.

" I can handle it myself Mary you stay here. By the way I think terry needs you more" I pointed in the Terry's direction while he was surrounded by a group of girls.

Marry didn't argue after that.

I started walking towards the stairs, after making sure that Aiden was busy with some buisness friends or may be partners..

It was the perfect time to execute phase one of tonight's plan.

" Alert me if someone comes upstairs!" I said on earpiece.

" Take your time! I'll make sure no one comes." He assured.

" By the way do you have extra red mask?"

Just in couple of minutes a waiter secretly passed me a red mask.
A smirk crept onto my lips.
