Hazel Grey

"What if I tell you, this is not my first time in Los Angeles?" I told him in his eyes. I could see the change in his emotions through his eyes, but I kept mine cold as always.

"Who are you, Hazel? Tell me!" he corned me to the wall and put both of hands on the wall by my side, "please" he demanded. He was just a few inches away from my face, his eyes pinned me but I met his gaze.

"Everybody has a chapter they don't want to read aloud," I said calmly. I want to tell him everything because he will know it eventually one day and it will hurt me more when he confronts me but I'm just not ready to tell him now. A part of me always stops me whenever try; I don't want him to see what kind of monster I have become.

His eyes were still locked with mine, but the air between us was filled with silence.

The silence that demanded answers, confessions but no words of mine could fill that silence.

We stayed like that for a few minutes but then he removed his hand from the wall and backed away. I wanted to stay like that a little more, but after a long time, I felt safe with having someone so close to me.

"One day you will whisper those chapters to me," he said, "and I will wait no matter how long it will take you to trust me with your secrets" he added and started walking away, leaving me empty again.

"I have been here in LA for a few years!" I shouted.

He stopped.

"I have dealt with drug rackets and left when police caught the racket" I continued lying, "that's all I can tell you" he stopped.

"So you used me to come back here," he said like a statement rather than a question, turning towards me.

"Nope," I said and walked up to him, his eyes were staring at me coldly and I returned with the same.

"I was helping you" he lifted an eyebrow, "you want that file" I stated the fact, "so do I" I confessed.

He studied me for a few moments.

"What do you want angel?" he asked tilting his face, meeting my dark gaze.

"I want you to let me keep helping you but this time do it my way," I said.

"I don't like taking permission and stop caring about me!" I darted him.

"I WILL NOT!" he straighten his head and glared at me.

"I will not stop caring about you. You are my responsibility. I didn't take your life that night that means your life is mine. I am not asking you to take my permission about everything you do but you will tell me everything, wherever you go or whatever you do!" he stated.

"If you want to find that file your way then let's do it but oh wait, how do I trust you when I don't know anything about you? How do I believe you will not run away once you get that file?"

"If you don't trust me, I won't be standing in front of you right now" I smirked.

"We both know we can't find it alone," I said, "you need my help and I need yours, we have made a deal, remember? I won't run away"

His eyes were pinned on me, his expressions were blank. First time in my life I cannot judge what the person in front of me is thinking!

"Okay," he said finally.

"Okay then! Let's start from today" he sighed, "I want your car keys. I'm going to meet some of my old friends, they surely would have some information about the file" I saw his eyes flinch at the word 'friends'.
