I waited for Natasha to speed past a Honda before I opened a portal and jumped on top of it. I jumped through continuous portals across car hoods to follow Natasha. Four cars away from the trailer, I stopped.
Steve pushed Ultron back. His head whipped to the road, hearing Natasha's motorcycle approach alongside the trailer. She tossed the shield to Steve.
Ultron shot a beam at the road in front of her. Natasha stopped the motorcycle to prevent crashing.
I dove off the car into a portal. My feet barely reached the edge of the trailer. I closed the portal, latching to the side for balance.
Whirring noises caught my attention, bringing my eyes from my feet to the inside of the trailer.
Three robots stared at me.
"Hello," I mumbled, "I don't suppose you all have Off buttons?"
The robots approached.
I took the singled robot. A quick kick to the chest pushed him down into the back corner.
The second robot caught up to me, throwing a punch that I ducked under. I shoved my shoulder into its side, knocking it off balance.
"Anyone know how to kill a robot?" I asked over Comms.
"Rip it apart?" suggested Barton.
"Guns will work, too," said Natasha, "Clara, turn!"
I whipped around. Natasha drove behind the trailer, a gun in her hand.
The three robots, on their feet again, tried to corner me. I waited until they were at the halfway point between myself and the cradle to slide across the cradle itself. I hit the floor. Natasha threw me the gun. I caught it and stood, the gun cocked.
As my finger adjusted to the trigger, a robot grabbed my forearm. I twisted the gun upside down. I pulled the trigger, releasing its grip, twisted my arm straight, then fired into its head.
I jumped throughout the trailer, kicking and firing single bullets when I had the chance. I was holding the robots off from harming me, but there wasn't enough time for me to land any punches myself.
"Okay, I lied!" I called into the earpiece, "If anyone's available, a little help would be much appreciated!"
"Duck!" yelled Barton.
In a moment of falter, a robot punched my nose. The punch numbed my entire face. The metal sent me into a state where I couldn't keep my balance. I fell straight into the floor.
Multiple rounds fired from the quinjet gun, aimed at the top half of the trailer to avoid any accidentally shots at me.
In a blur, the jagged figures of the remaining two robots flew after the quinjet, presumably thinking I was knocked out.
"I'm coming in, Clara," said Natasha, "Cap, can you keep him occupied?"
"What do you think I've been doing?" sighed Steve.
"Clara! Where are you?" called Natasha.
"On the floor," I groaned, grabbing the crate and hoisting myself to my feet, "Word of advice: don't get hit in the face by a robot."
I looked inside the window of the cradle. Fog covered the glass, keeping the insides a mystery.
To claim the cradle as our own, I couldn't slide it through a portal. My portals couldn't tell where the cradle ended and the bottom of the trailer started.
