I looked to where his hand spiraled, conducting a cloud out of thin air. In it, was a memory, playing from the point of view of a stationary object. The sounds were garbled and there was no visual of people, only other objects set on podiums. The podiums were made of dark wood, ancient appearing, and yet it seemed so far in the past, it didn't.
"Is that..." I mumbled, looking closer. "Is that Strange's Mansion?"
"Sweetie, be careful, would you?" chuckled a voice through the object. "Fury would kick your ass if you broke anything in here."
"It's not like im trying to be clumsy," said a woman, sounding sickly. "I feel dizzy. Sick, almost."
My heart dropped. I inhaled a deep sigh as I recognized the voices. I blinked once, and tears spilled over my ducts. It was directly after I knew it in my heart to be true that he came into view of the object, extending his hand to his wife.
"Linds, come here," said Adam.
He grabbed her hand and she must have taken a step towards him. All I saw was a skinny fingered hand cover part of the object I was watching out of, and a swirl of colors. I heard a sharp inhale, a gasp, of pain, and Lindsay fell towards Adam.
"Lindsay!" he gasped, lowering her to the floor. "Help! Help us!"
"Stop, stop it," I snapped, putting my fist through the cloud. It disappeared. I turned my back on Agamotto. "Explain."
"You're watching through the Orb of Agamotto. Another artifact I've embedded myself into. It's been in the Sanctum Sanctorum since my time living there. When S.H.I.E.L.D found the Sanctum, they sent your parents to investigate. Your mother wasn't feeling well. She touched the Orb to make it to your father, and..."
"She was pregnant," I finished.
He floated around me, a smile on his face that cased excitement at the memory. "Her touch to the Orb was the first interaction I had with you. I felt you inside of her, your existence small, and yet, I felt it."
"Felt what?"
"Possibility," he said simply. "I loved you from the moment I felt your heartbeat. It was you I embedded myself in, because I fell in love with you. You became my destiny."
"And my powers, they stemmed from you?" I asked. I took a step backwards to separate us, becoming increasingly worried with his infatuation.
"The Orb, by itself, has the ability to see anywhere in time and space, so long as myself or it has been there before. It can travel to other dimensions by creating gateways that appear similar to your portals," he explained. "The Orb is connected to me, that's why you could hear me. Part of it is coded to you, because it is you. Your memories are coded to the Orb, as well as--"
"All of them?" I interrupted.
Agamotto raised his hand into the air. A circle of moving memories swirled around his palm. He explained these were only a few, as seen through my eyes, that he watched over the years. He could see through my eyes at any point in time without me knowing, he had throughout my entire life, because the Orb and I shared the same abilities.
"The Orb is how you gained your powers and how you were able to hear me speak to you. If you hadn't resisted, this would've gone faster, more painlessly. But, as I said, you are a human, first," he said shamefully.
"Can you stop species-shaming me?" I asked, tired. "You made it clear we both didn't choose this. It just happened. And we both have to come to terms with this."
Agamotto nodded his head. "It's much to take in. Are you feeling all right?"
I didn't have an answer. I was a plethora of emotions, but the most prevalent one was anger. I had my whole life on a straight shot to become Agamotto and had no idea.
