Pietro enjoyed my company, that was clear. It was shown in the way he laughed himself when I giggled, or his constant playful pushing and shoving, or the close eye he kept on myself. It wasn't a crush. It was a liking. In me, he believed he found his first friend on the team.
He and I ran through the streets of Sokovia. Terrified screaming navigated our way. We kept a close eye on where the screaming came from, desperately trying to avoid missing someone in need. Eventually, we came across a part. Robots were closing in on a few teenagers huddled at the top of a slide.
"Help!" screamed one of the girls, spotting us, "Help, Avengers, please!"
Pietro cracked his back. "You don't happen to get motion sickness, do you, Portals?" he asked.
"Not that I know of. Why do you ask?"
In response, Pietro swept me into his arms.
"What do you think you're doing?" I asked.
"Keep your feet up. And I suggest closing your eyes," he muttered.
I did as he asked. Judging by the circular motion I was feeling, also, the smacking of my feet against metal, I assumed Pietro was running us in a circle, using my feet as a weapon. However many seconds, or milliseconds, later, Pietro dropped his arm from under my knees.
"Not bad, Sonic," I praised, nodding at the scattered pieces of robot.
"Are you ever going to use my name?" he wondered.
"When you use mine."
"Clara," he said slowly.
In sync, by complete coincidence, our faces scrunched in discomfort.
"I prefer Portals," I said.
Pietro nodded, giving a small chuckle. "I guess you will have to continue calling me Sonic, then."
"You say that like you hate it," I teased.
