'Get Me Drunk, And Let's Put On a Show

Couple Hours Before...

With everything that was going on, I couldn't seem to get my head out of the gutter. The stress and chaos of the situation consumed my thoughts, making it hard to focus on anything else. However, amidst the turmoil, I couldn't help but notice her diligent efforts. She had taken the time to meticulously organize the schedule for the upcoming meetings, and I couldn't help but admire her hard work.

Her dedication to her responsibilities was evident, and it made me curious to interact with her. I wanted to find something to accuse her of, not out of malice, but merely to have an excuse to engage in conversation with her. It had been quite some time since I last saw her, as she tended to remain secluded in her office.

The thought struck me that maybe I could use the schedule as a reason to initiate a conversation. If the schedule was not on my desk, then I could go to her office and inquire about it. With this idea in mind, I left my office and made my way down the hall towards her office door.

As I approached, I could hear faint voices coming from inside, piquing my curiosity. Wanting to gather more information, I decided to linger by her door, discreetly eavesdropping on the conversation.

"Oh, uh, that sounds nice. I just didn't think you'd ask me out."

"Why not? We've been getting along fine lately."

Blair's voice made me tighten my jaw. He wanted to take her out, which surprised me. He has been to her office far too frequently, which should not be happening anymore.

"I value your sincerity, Blair. If that's okay, I need some time to consider it."

"Of course, take as much time as you need." I don't want to force you into something you aren't prepared for."

"Thank you for your patience. I love your company, and I'm hoping that going out tonight would help me work things out."

"That is all I am asking. Let's keep things light and have a fun time with no expectations."

He appeared to be nearing the door. I dashed down the hall and into my office. I could hear his footsteps approaching the elevator. I heard it open and then close. I walked out of my office, a little jealousy taking control. I honestly don't know why, but I hate to confess it.

It wasn't my business who she was seeing. But still, I couldn't shake the feeling of envy. I wondered if there was something more between us, or if it was just a misunderstanding.
