Maybe this was my getaway ticket to get my head out of my butt. I know it's hard to pretend what happened with Amir, but it's time I pulled up my socks. I packed a small bag with a few items, clothing and accessories because I was spending a week with Greg, pretending to be his fake girlfriend. He was suppose to pick me up about anytime soon.

I double-checked to make sure I had everything I needed, including the fake relationship agreement we had drafted together. As I waited for his arrival, my nerves started to kick in.

I took a deep breath and reminded myself that this was all just a part of our plan to fool his family. I hoped that our acting skills would be convincing enough to pull it off. I smoothed down my hair and straightened out my outfit, trying to look as put-together as possible. As I heard the sound of a car pulling up outside, I braced myself for the role I was about to play.

I murmured under my breath, "Okay, Eleanor, you've got this. It's just a week. Pretend like you're in a rom-com and everything will be fine." I took one last deep breath before opening the door.

As Greg pulled up in front of my apartment building, I couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement mixed with nerves. We had been planning this for some time now, ever since Greg's parents had dropped the bombshell that they were coming to town and expecting him to bring his "girlfriend" to meet them.

Greg picks up my bag and slings it over his shoulder, leading me out to his car. He opened the passenger door for me, his charming smile in place. "Ready for this?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.

I took a deep breath, trying to quell the butterflies in my stomach. "As ready as I'll ever be," I replied, stepping inside the car and adjusting my scarf nervously. He drove off.

"So, did you remember to pack everything?" He broke the awkward moment of silence.

I responded nervously, "Yeah, I think so. Clothing, check. Accessories, check. Fake relationship contract, check."

Greg chuckled at my mention of the fake relationship contract, easing the tension between us. "Don't worry, we've got this," he reassured me with a wink. He chuckled, "You're really getting into character, aren't you?" With his confidence and charm, I couldn't help but feel a little more at ease about the week ahead.

"Well, we have to make this convincing, right?"

As we arrived at our destination, Greg gave me a reassuring smile before opening the car door for me. "Let's make this fake relationship look as real as possible," he said with a grin, making me believe that maybe this crazy plan could actually work.

We arrive at Greg's family home, a beautiful mansion nestled in the countryside. My nerves kick into overdrive as we step out of the car.

"You live here? I mean you work at a cafe."

Greg chuckles at my surprise, explaining that his family's wealth is not something he likes to advertise. As we walk towards the front door, he squeezes my hand gently and whispers, "Just be yourself, they'll love you."
