Chapter 4

Kavya's eyes opened to the beautiful ceiling of the Panchaal palace as she realised what had happened yesterday. Draupadi had asked her to live with her in Hastinapur. She knew she would find Karn there and just because of that tiny part in her, she couldn't say no to the offer. She had agreed almost immediately and was immensely happy.

She got down from her bed and went to the washroom to take a bath and look the best for Karn. How she hoped that he would like her too. In the washroom, Kavya applied everything that she could find. Sandalwood paste and other scented pastes whose name she didn't even know, just in the hopes for the man who was a part of the mighty Sun to like her.

After coming out of the washroom Kavya was confused. She did not know what to wear. Was a red saree good? Or a pink one? Or a purple one? Or an orange one? She scoured through her closet, desperate to find something which would make her look the best but found nothing.

Her thorough hunt had resulted in nothing and Kavya was becoming irritated with each passing moment because of that. She needed a goddamn saree which would make her look the best and she couldn't find one. How petty can life be? When you need something you don't get it.

Her anger rose even more when she heard a knock on the door. Who dared disturb her when she clearly instructed everyone to not disturb her when she was getting ready. With an angry face she opened the door to see a maid standing there with a greenish blue saree with intricate gold designs on them.

"Rajkumari Draupadi has sent this for you Devi, please take it." Said the Dasi with a breaking voice as she looked at the angry face of Kavya.

Kavya noticed the fright in the face of the dasi and felt really bad for scaring her. She politely then thanked her and took the saree from her hands. She closed the door as she looked at the saree infront of her. It was drop dead gorgeous and would definitely make her look pretty.

Her heart was filled with joy and immense love for Draupadi for understanding her so well. Without wasting another second, Kavya got up and dressed herself in the peacock feather coloured saree.

As soon as she wore the last piece of jewellery, there was a knock on the door. A happy Kavya opened the door with a huge smile on her face to see the face of a man she didn't expect to see.

He was standing tall, his brown eyes boring holes into her. If she hadn't seen Ang Raj Karn she would definitely swoon over him, but unfortunately for him, she had already seen him.

"What happened?", asked Kavya.

He was weirded out. What does she mean by what happened, doesn't she know that they have to leave? Why was she taking so much time to get ready? She already knew that Panchaali had wanted Kavya's presence with her and she was still so late. Not wanting to upset the princess of Panchaal, he had himself come to call Kavya and take her to the chariot, which was waiting, solely for her.

"What do you mean what happened? We have been waiting for you since I don't know how long." He said irritated. He just wanted to go home and not upset his wife any further than she already was.

Kavya had sensed the irritation and she absolutely did not want to tolerate it but she didn't say anything because she knew all them were waiting for her.

"Wait a moment, let me bring my belongings." said Kavya with an irritating tone as well. She couldn't be outright rude to him but she could share the irritating tone for sure.

He nodded and waited as he saw a petite girl dragging a huge trunk with all her force. He wanted to laugh at her. She couldn't even lift a chair properly and was now wanting to carry a whole trunk with her? A small laugh had escaped his lips which didn't go unnoticed by Kavya. She was immediately angered by that laugh.
