A month later
Arizona was sitting with Meredith, she'd barley left her side since she fell into the coma. Miranda entered the room,
"How is she doing?" Miranda asked, picking up Meredith's chart
"Nothings changed, but I can tel she's there she fighting to come back to us." Arizona answered
"Ok, well I wanted to talk to you." Miranda started sitting down next to Arizona, "we need to talk about some logistics with Meredith, for the long term. I know you want her to stay here at the hospital which is fine. We need to organise a physical therapist to come in and work with her, that way her muscles don't start to degrade. She already has a catheter, but we may need to get a stoma bag inserted, mainly for her safety and sanity. We also need to consider changing her feeding tube. Right now she has a nasal one, however I believe that getting a PEG tube may be beneficial, it'll be more effective and we don't have to worry about the ventilator and the tube getting in the way of each other."
Arizona looked at Miranda, it hurt to hear. She knew what Miranda was saying was true, she'd said exactly that to families before but it was hard to hear, the reality was that these where steps to take when they had little hope for a person waking up or at least not waking up for a while these where long term treatment.
"I consent," she said quietly,
"I'm sorry, what was that?" Miranda asked again.
"I give you permission to do those surgery's give her the PEG tube and the stoma bag. I agree she needs a physical therapist, can you get Stacy, she was always nice to us." Arizona said looking at Miranda.
"Sure thing, and I'm so sorry Arizona." Miranda said before getting up to leave.
"Miranda?" Arizona asked
"Yes," she replied turning back,
"Do you think she's ever going to wake up?" Arizona asked teary
"I don't know Ari, I'm sorry I really don't know, but as you said she's fighting." Miranda answered
"Thanks" Arizona sighed turning back to Meredith.

3 Months Later

"I miss mummy, why isn't she getting better?" Ellis asked looking up at Arizona from the shopping cart she was sitting in.
"I don't know my love." Arizona answered, yawning. Arizona had returned to work 2 months ago, she hadn't wanted to but she had to bring back some sense of normalcy to her family. The kids had returned to school, with much help from Maggie and Amelia who looked after the kids when Arizona was at work. It was a hard time for all of them. Amelia had offered to have everyone over for dinner, so Arizona was grabbing a few last minute things Amelia had forgotten before heading over there.

At the Dinner
Arizona arrived and the kids quickly ran into the house, smiling. Arizona followed slowly behind it felt wrong to be doing this kind of thing without Meredith. As she entered the lounge she was greeted with smiling faces. Although she hasn't expected to see the Shepards and Addison also amongst the group sitting in the lounge.
"Oh hey Arizona, thank you so much for grabbing these." Kai welcomed taking the bags from Arizona, "can I offer you a drink?" They asked,
"Just a cokes fine, thanks Kai." Arizona answered taking a seat next to Maggie in the lounge.
She sat there awkwardly as the conversation went on, she knew life had to continue it wasn't going to stop and wait for Meredith but it still felt wrong to Arizona to be there while her wife was in the hospital in a coma.

After Dinner,
Everyone was sitting in the lounge while the kids played in the other room. The sound of a spoon gently hitting a glass cut through the room, everyone turning their head towards its origin.
"Thank you all for coming to dinner, Kai and I hope you enjoyed it, but there is another reason we asked you all to come here today. I..we have an announcement. We're pregnant or I'm pregnant." Amelia cheered, congratulations filled the room as everyone looked at the couple.
"Thank you, I know it's been a tough few months and Kai and I don't want to take away from that but we started this process before...well just before." Amelia continued, "And we wanted you all here to tell you cause we've already picked out names."
"Names? As in plural?" Addison asked picking up on her sisters use of words.
"Yes names, Amelia is pregnant with twins" Kai answered wrapping their arms around Amelia.
"Oh my gosh," Addison cheered.
"What are the names?" Nancy asked
Amelia and Kai smiled at each other,
"Well both babies are girls, and we wanted to name them after some of the strongest and closest women we know" Kai answered,
"So the first name we would like to use if Addison Faith Shepard-Bartley," Amelia said smiling at Addison, "and the second with permission we would like to be Meredith Hope Shepard-Bartley." Amelia continued looking at Arizona.
"Of course we would call them by there middle names to save confusion but are you guys ok with that?" Kai asked hugging Amelia from behind.
"You want to name your baby after me?" Addison asked crying jumping up to hug the couple.
"If yours ok with that." Amelia said leaning forward to hug her sister
"Of course I am, thank you Amelia, thank you Kai," Addison screamed, turning to hug Kai.
"Arizona?" Amelia asked
Arizona looked up at the couple tears in her eyes,
"She would be honoured, thank you" Arizona said smiling pulling Amelia into a hug.
"Well we also wanted to ask you if you and Meredith would be the babies god parents?" Amelia asked smiling,
"Really?" Arizona asked
"Yes really" Amelia replied,
"Of course," Arizona cheered.
Arizona quickly turned to hug Kai, just then a voice broke through the cheers
"What a minute..this is ridiculous!" it bellowed, the group turned around to see how the voice belonged to...
