Arizona quickly sat up turning to flick her bed side lamp on before trying to figure out who was coughing. Her heart was racing was Meredith sick again what was going on.
As she looked at Meredith her fears where confirmed as her Meredith was coughing in her sleep wheezing to try and get air. It was only then that Arizona noticed Ellis was still lying on Meredith's chest she quickly grabbed their youngest moving her to the bed. It didn't really help Meredith's wheezing or coughing. Arizona was surprised it hadn't woken Meredith up yet. She quickly swapped Meredith's nasal cannula for a full mask hoping it would help.
"Meredith," Arizona tried to wake Meredith knowing it would be more effective if Meredith was awake. "Meredith, honey wake up." She tried again, her wife slept like a log it was always a pain trying to wake Meredith.
"Mmm" Meredith groaned before being overwhelmed by a fit of coughing. Arizona could see in Meredith eyes that she was freaking out,
"Shh shh, it's ok," Arizona tried to calm Meredith knowing panicking would only make it worse, the fit seemed to have stopped but Meredith's breathing was still extremely shallow, and she sounded kinda wheezy, Arizona wasn't sure what to do, suddenly she heard footsteps behind her.
"Here mamma," Zola voice spoke from behind her,
As Arizona turned around she saw Zola holding Meredith's asthma puffer. Immediately Arizona felt the weight lift off her shoulders as she grabbed the puffer and spacer from her daughter and brought it up to Meredith's mouth.
It didn't take very long after using her puffer for Meredith's breaths to return to normal. Arizona quickly helped Meredith sit up a bit in the bed, before turning to talk to Zola.
"Thank you Zozo," Arizona said,
"I could hear mummy coughing and it sounded like when Elli has her asthma attacks, and I remembered Mummy had asthma as well." Zola explained,
"Zozo you are so smart my beautiful little girl, come here." Meredith said smiling at her daughter, who climbed into the bed next to her.
"I love you mummy." Zola said sleepily as she lay with her head resting on Meredith's chest.
"I love you to Zozo," Meredith cooed, before smiling as Zola fell asleep again.
"Are you ok my love?" Arizona asked, resting her hand on Meredith's.
"Yeah I'm fine, I got scared for a second there but I'm fine, are you ok?" Meredith replied knowing that the Arizona had also been freaking out.
"I'm fine." Arizona answered,
"Don't lie to me, Ari I know you're stressed." Meredith replied, knowing her wife was lying. Arizona looked at Meredith for a second before starting to laugh.
"Ari what it going on?" Meredith asked confused
Arizona continued to laugh as she tried to explain.
"I...we were so worried, and it was just your asthma it was just a normal thing." She said through laugher.
"I don't get what's to funny." Meredith said smiling.
"I'm just relieved my love your ok. You don't have cancer anymore, your awake, your slowly gaining control of your muscles again. I'm just, it's getting back to normal." Arizona said smiling, sitting down on the bed next to Meredith carefully lifting Zola into her lap as she sat down.
"I love you so much Mer," Arizona said kissing Meredith.
"I love you to Zona," Meredith said smiling.

A few days later

Meredith was back in her hospital room, and Arizona was working so she was alone. Arizona hated that she couldn't be with Meredith every second but they still had kids to pay for and so Arizona needed to work.
Meredith had been watching some TV when she heard a knock at the door.
"Hey Meredith can I come in?" Kai asked,
Meredith looked over and saw Kai standing at the door,
"Of course," Meredith said smiling, trying to sit up a bit more, but failing. Her core strength was getting better and was nearly able to keep herself upright but she didn't yet have the strength to get into the position nor the control over her arms to help push herself up.
"Here let me help," Kai said helping Meredith sit up,
"To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" Meredith asked once Kai had helped her sit up, popping a cushion under Meredith's back so she didn't have to over exhaust herself.
"Well, I wanted to ask you something well two things but they are kinda the same thing, cause like the go together and I need to ask the first thing to get to the second thing but if you say no to the first thing I don't know what I'll say about the second thing..." Kai started to ramble looking down at their hands.
"Kai, stop rambling, is everything ok? Are the twins ok?" Meredith asked concerned as to why her sisters partner was so nervous.
"Oh no no the twins are fine, scout's fine, Amelia fine it's nothing like that in fact it's a good thing." Kai said smiling, "I um, well I want to ask for your blessing to propose to Amelia." Kai said, looking at Meredith who was beaming with excitement,
"Oh my god she's going to be so excited" Meredith said smiling, "but why are you asking my blessing?" Meredith asked confused,
"Well traditionally you'd ask a person father but obviously I can't do that, so then maybe a mother but Amelia and Carolyn and I suppose all her sisters to had a falling out while you where in the coma, but even if that hadn't happened your the closest family Amelia's got so it just felt right, I'm also going to ask Maggie but I wanted to ask you first." Kai explained half rambling. Meredith was beaming, she was so excited for her sister. She was a little concerned about why Amelia had fallen out with her family but if she was honest she wasn't surprised.
"The other thing I was going to ask is if you would be able to help me with the proposal." Kai asked,
"Of course yes," Meredith said smiling, "how, what do you need?" Meredith asked excited.
"Well..." Kai started to explain.

Authors Note
I'm back. I'm so sorry about the long delay, it was the end of term at work and it was hectic as well as making the decision to stay in the uk for another year had meant several hours of sorting things out. But I should be back to uploading regularly now. Obviously Christmas is just around the corner so the next few days might not be super regular but I'll try. Thank you to anyone who's stuck around over my gap.

Please leave comments and idea,
I love hearing from you guys. I read every comment and love to hear what you think.
