chapter nine - progress

(Juliens POV)

i felt bad for ivy, i tried being there for her as much as i could. i knew it affects lucy too because it was her uncle, phoebe and i don't really know how to express our emotions towards someone so we were in the same boat of not knowing what to do.

i was sitting on the front porch smoking when lucy and ivy got back. ivy had a little bit of black eye makeup under her eyes and they were red and puffy from crying. i dropped the cigarette, stomping on it to put it out. they got out of the car, ivy game me a weak smile as they walked up to the porch. "hi" i said hugging them both. "hey" lucy replied back, walking through the front door, leaving me and ivy standing on the front porch.

i wiped the smeared makeup off of her eyes, she looked up at me while i did so. "i know you're not doing great right now, but i miss the light in your eyes, honey. it'll get better i promise" i said rubbing her cheek. her eyes filled up with tears, "i know" she whispered and nodded. the tears never fell, but i know they were close. she buried her head back into my shoulder, i didnt let go until she was ready for it.

eventually she did, "let's get you inside and into some more comfortable clothes, yeah?" i asked. she nodded in response.

(Ivy's POV)

i'm pretty sure lucy went straight inside to take a nap, i changed into one of juliens shirts and some pajama shorts. phoebe was at bo's, me and julien were just enjoying each other's company. we were just talking, everything was normal, and then it hit me again. the anxiety nausea. i stopped talking and got up quickly running to the bathroom, julien knew what this meant, she followed behind me. i kneeled down, julien helping me hold my hair back, and i threw up. i was so tired of throwing up so often, it had become a part of my daily routine at this point.

i turned to her with teary eyes, "oh love, come here" she said embracing me. i didn't cry, i think i had cried so much in the past week i couldn't cry anymore.

"i hate this" i said into her chest, "i know you do, you're just anxious, and that's okay. we just need to get those meds into your system" she replied. i nodded, "do you think you can go get them now?" i asked, "of course, i'll be right back" she said standing up.

julien had been gone for a few minutes, im sure she was looking for the medicine. i was burning up, if i didn't take this shirt off i was going to pass out. i took my shirt off, leaving me in a sports bra and shorts. the shirt lied across my lap.

she got back with a cup of water and two pills in her hand, sitting back down beside me. "why's your shirt off hun?" she asked, "i got too hot, thank you for getting my medicine" i said. she nodded, "no problem" i took the medicine.

"do you know how many of those are left? i'm definitely going to need to take one before we go to thanksgiving lunch" thanksgiving was in two days, we were all going to mine and lucy's family's thanksgiving lunch, then going to pheobes family thanksgiving dinner. julien was really close to her parents, but they were in nashville so she only sees them on christmas, or she goes down for christmas week but comes back christmas eve.
besides the point, she told me there was enough left until then.

we ended up watching a movie, neither of us actually watched it. julien was on her phone, i was just admiring her a lot. out of nowhere, i don't even know why, but i blurted out, "you look like you have such a kissable nose" why did i say that? she looked over at me, "i- what" she asked confusingly, i felt like a fucking idiot for saying that. i repeated it but quieter. she grinned, "really?" she asked giggling a little. "yea" i replied, "sorry if that was .... weird" i said quietly. "no it wasn't" she grinned, she took both of her hands grabbing my face and kissed my nose.

i giggled, my stomach was full of butterflies. i did it back, making the both of us giggle even more. i think i was really falling for this girl.
