Pokémon: Student Way Of Life

Tandemaus

Once the first day's classes were over (y/n) made his way to the cafeteria. He wasn't going to eat dinner just yet but it was a decent place to just hang out.

He fiddled with Tandemaus' pokeball as he sat down at an empty table and looked around the room, not finding much of any interest.

He gently tossed the pokeball up in the air, causing it to open and fly back to his hand as the Pokémon inside came out and landed on the table. "Hello" he spoke as they opened their mouthes wide and cried out.

"There you are" (y/n) turned his head to find Selene walking towards him.

"Hi" (y/n) nodded at the girl before looking back at the Pokémon and watching them run around on the table. "Need something?"

"Well..." she went silent for a long moment before the boy looked up and realized that once again she had been sucked into her thoughts, he could tell since she had that small smile and blank look.

"Hey" he reached up and waved his hand in her face. "Snap out of it"

"Huh? Oh, sorry. I tend to overthink things" Selene smiled before sitting down beside (y/n). "I was wondering if your roommates have any Pokémon... no offense but if you've never had one and I'm not there to help then... well you don't know much about Pokémon right? I heard you're from Orre"

"Wow. Say one thing about yourself and it gets around fast" (y/n) shook his head as he turned his head back to the Pokémon. "Yeah. Both my roommates have experience with Pokémon, I'm sure they'll help me if I need it"

"Great" Selene nodded as she pulled a bag out of her bag. "Take these"

(Y/n) gave her a confused look. "And what is this?" He asked as he reached out and took the bag.

"Brushes, toys, and PokéPuffs. The PokéPuffs look unhealthy but they're healthy. Taste good too... I may have had a couple on the way here" Selene unzipped the bag and pointed to each thing as she said it. "Borrowed it for you from Serena, my roomie. These Pokémon Amie kits are big with newbies in Kalos"

"Ah, thank you" the boy nodded and placed the bag on the table. "Guess I should feed these guys right?"

Selene bent over and lowered her head so she was face to face with the mice. "Hungry?" She asked as she reached into the bag and pulled out a PokéPuff before biting into it, she then placed what was left of the puff in (y/n)'s hand and he held it out to the mice.

The mice looked at each other before looking back at (y/n) and running over to him. They each grabbed onto the puff before breaking off a piece. They then split the piece equally and each started eating their halves.

(Y/n) watched with a smile before quickly realizing as Selene tried to take back what was left of the puff. "Are they really that good?" He asked as he quickly pulled it away from the girl. She pouted and nodded. "Alright then" he threw what was left of the food into his mouth and smiled as he ate it.

"Meanie" Selene laughed a bit. "How is it?"

"Good" (y/n) nodded as he finished chewing and swallowed the food. "But with my luck I'll get mono"

"Well if you do then don't tell people you got it from me" Selene grimaced at the thought.

"Don't want people thinking I'm kissing you?" (Y/n) laughed a bit at that.

He expected Selene to respond but was surprised to realize that she had once again started staring straight ahead and thinking about something. "Hey, laugh at my joke" he waved his hand in front of her face.

"Huh?" She quickly turned as she snapped out of it and looked at the boy. "Sorry, started wondering where I might be able to buy PokéPuffs in Ransei"

"You really tend to zone out don't you?" (Y/n) asked as he looked down and watched the Tandemaus finish their food.

"That's what I've been told" Selene shrugged as she stood up. "I've got to go meet up with my brother, call me if you need anything for Tandemaus"

"Will do" the boy nodded as he turned his head to watch the girl walk off.

As he got closer to his room (y/n) was surprised to see a sleeping Calem being pulled in the same direction by a girl who looked just about fed up with him. "- don't know why I put up with this" the Kantonian sounding girl groaned as she glared down at the boy.

"Need some help?" She looked up with surprise and smiled at (y/n) as he walked over to her.

"No, I'm fine. Just need to get him back to his dorm, it's not far" She shook her head.

"I know, I'm his roommate" (y/n) leaned down and picked up Calem, causing the girl to let go. "I'm (y/n)"

"Serena" the girl replied with a curtsey as the boy began walking and he walked at her side.

"Selene's roomie" (y/n) nodded as he carried Calem back towards the dorm. "How do you know Calem?"

"We were neighbors back home" Serena replied as she quickly reached into Calem's pocket and grabbing his dorm key before quickly walking ahead and opening the door. She held it open so (y/n) could carry him inside.

"Oh yeah, he did mention you" he nodded as he carried Calem inside and dropped him on his bed.

"Oh?" Serena smiled as she followed the boy inside. "Only good things I hope"

"Yeah, of course" (y/n) nodded, not mentioning he had only mentioned her the time he had said she knew their history teacher. "I like your hat"

"Thank you" Serena walked over to Calem's bedside table and placed his key down on it. "Kalos style really grew on me after I moved there"

"I can tell" (y/n) replied as he sat down on his bed and put his pokeball on his bedside table. "Definitely beats the Kanto students styles"

Serena nodded in agreement. "If you'll excuse me I have to see professor Oak about a club I want to start. It was nice meeting you (y/n)" she spoke as she placed Calem's bag down by his bed.

"You too. Good luck with your club" he replied as he watched Serena walk to the door and close it behind her as she exited.

(Calem in this story is based on the one chapter of the X and Y manga that I read like 6 years ago and never revisited. All I remember from it was he is depressed)
