Pokémon: Student Way Of Life

(Y/n) sat on his bed and carefully placed a sticker of an G on Geode, his Rhyhorn's, pokeball. He was very careful to make sure it was positioned in the center of the top half, right above the button. He had just done this for all his other pokeballs as well, aside from Penny and Farthing. They were still with Selene.

Once done the boy slipped the pokeball back into his pocket. He looked up and to the fish tank across the room. Bubbles the Magikarp stared back at him for a moment before going for the food that Blue had just poured into the tank.

Tooka, (y/n)'s Alolan Meowth, jumped onto the boys lap a second later, startling (y/n) since he hadn't expected it. The boy let out a nervous laugh before petting the Pokémon. "Have I not given you enough attention?" He smiled as he felt the Pokémon lean into his touch.

"You really chose the most high maintenance Meowth" Blue smirked as he watched the boy and his cat.

Hearing its species name and the tone in Blue's voice and making assumptions Meowth turned it Blue and hissed.

(Y/n) smirked as Blue didn't react. "They're keenly smart and deeply proud creatures, these Meowth" he spoke as he picked up the Pokémon and held it to his chest. It tried to shake out of his grip but failed. "Selene said this species were bred for Alolan royalty, that's why they're the way that they are"

Blue nodded as he kept looking at the cat. "How much of our speech can he understand?"

"I don't know" (y/n) shrugged. "I think more than he likes to let on" he then yelped as the cat scratched his arm, making him let go. It jumped to the ground before running off.

"You okay?" Blue asked as he walked over to the boy, ready to get bandages if need be.

"I'm fine" he shook his arm a bit. "Hardly even cut me. No blood or anything"

"You can't pick him up just like that. You've had him for long enough, you should know he'll just keep scratching you"

"But I want to hold him" (y/n) frowned as his eyes searched for the cat.

"Then you've got to train him" (y/n) frowned so Blue quickly amended his words. "Not for battling. Just in general" he shoved his hand into his pocket before pulling it back out holding a coin. He threw it to the boy. "You'll need this"

"Oh" (y/n) nodded as he understood. "I should use this like a treat?"

"Exactly" Blue nodded. "Let him play with it when he does what you want. But you have to take it back after so he doesn't start thinking it's his"

"Gotcha!" (Y/n) nodded quickly. He knew he couldn't start it right now or Tooka would begin to think it was okay to scratch him so he slid the coin into his pocket. "You're the best, Blue"

"Glad one of my friends finally sees it" Blue smirked upon hearing that.

"Hey" Kris smiled as she opened her door and found their neighbor had been the one who knocked. "How you doing (y/n)?"

"Good" The boy nodded simply. "Your roommates with Elaine right?"

"Yes sir" Kris nodded as she wondered where this was going. "What do you need with her? I didn't think you knew her at all"

"I don't" (y/n) replied with a shrug. "But I can't throw a pokeball straight and Blue told me she could help"

"Blue thinks I can help?!" Kris was quickly pushed out of the way by Elaine who came to the door and looked at (y/n). "He really said that?!" The girl with the Eevee on her head was quick to ask.
