Pokémon: Student Way Of Life

The Boat Part 3

(Y/n) lay in his bed, watching the Meowth sleep at the foot of his bed as he tried to ignore the feeling of the boat swaying beneath them. It was their first night on the boat and the swaying was keeping him awake.

The boy lay there for another half an hour before sighing and getting out of bed. He was careful not to wake Tooka.

Once dressed he exited the room and decided to walk around a bit. He wished that he had Penny and Farthing to play with but Selene had wanted to watch them while he was away. They did share the pair after all.

Soon enough he was on the top deck. He walked over to the railing and looked out into the black sky, lit up by bright stars, the sort you never saw near cities, and the ocean below it. Every once in a while the quiet would be pierced by the sound of a Pokémon in the distance.

After a moment the boy pulled out his camera and took a few photos. Could always use some good photos for extra credit for photography class.

The boy reattached his camera to his belt a moment later before turning. "Oh! Hi, didn't think anyone was up"

Red just nodded and offered a small smile in response. "..." he walked over to the younger boys side and stood there, looking out over the ocean.

(Y/n) turned to once again look at the ocean as well. "So want to talk?" He glanced over at Red who just raised an eyebrow as if to ask if he was joking. "Alright... I can respect someone who's the strong silent type"

They stood there for another couple minutes before Red turned. "..." he nodded at the boy before walking back towards the stairs.

(Y/n) smiled as he turned back away from the view. "He's so cool" he tried to think of what else he could do that would tire him out enough that he'd fall asleep even with the swaying of the boat.

Eventually the boy went back below the deck. He had just given up and decided to go back to his room when he heard weird noises coming from Yellow's room. He frowned and walked over to it before knocking on the door. "Yellow?" He asked quietly. "You okay?"

After another moment Yellow opened the door with a soft smile. She was wearing her normal outfit minus the hat. "Hey, I'm fine" she opened the door wider so the boy could see inside. "Gravvy is just seasick. I was just giving him some medicine" (y/n) watched with a frown as the Pokémon curled up into a ball before returning to its pokeball which was laid out on Yellow's bed.

"Poor thing" (y/n) spoke as he looked back to Yellow.

"What are you still doing up?" Yellow asked as she leaned against the doorframe.

"Couldn't sleep with all the swaying" the boy spoke with a nervous laugh.

Yellow nodded in understanding. "First times on ships aren't always easy" she moved out of the way. "Want to come in?"

The boy smiled and nodded before following Yellow into the room. "Oh cool you've got a window" he spoke as he looked out of it. "Is that Ransei in the distance?"

"Where else would it be?" Yellow asked with a small laugh. "We can't make it anywhere else in the little amount of time we have before school starts up again"

"Right" the boy nodded.

"So can't sleep... that's rough" Yellow spoke as she walked over to her bed and sat down. "Have you tried anything?"

"Everything I can think of" the boy replied as he shook his head. "I just end up laying there, trying my best and failing to fall asleep"

Yellow frowned as she grabbed a pokeball from her bag which was on her bedside table."I- I may have an idea but I want to leave it as a last resort"

(Y/n) gave her a curious look. "Now does feel like a time for last resorts"

Yellow nodded. "Let's go to your room then, don't want you falling asleep in here"

(Y/n) nodded in agreement before the two took off. They walked quietly side by side until they reached the boys room. "So what now?" (Y/n) asked curiously.

Yellow led him back to his bed and had him lay down. "Come on out Kitty" she threw her pokeball and out came a butterfree.

"Okay so what's the plan?" (Y/n) asked as he watched the girl look to the Butterfree.

"Alright Kitty, sleep powder" the butterfree looked at (y/n) before quickly using the move.

(Y/n) covered his mouth as he yawned before his head hit the pillow. "Good-" he yawned. "-idea. Goodnight Amarillo" he slowly closed his eyes and within seconds was fast asleep.

"Goodnight (y/n)" Yellow smiled as she looked over the now sleeping boy. She quickly returned Kitty to his pokeball before putting that away. She liked when he used her real name, not many people did so it felt more special.

Yellow made sure to be quiet as she made her way to the door. Once out of the boys room she quickly ran back to her room before getting into her pajamas and heading to bed. Tomorrow was another big day on this big boat after all.
