Chapter 5

The beeping of the hospital and the vision of scissors slicing broke me out of my trance. I was seeing my soulmate and hearing my real world preference. I could care less about myself, but I would commit some bad murder if those scissors went any farther.

I focused more on the sound then the girl, I was in a hospital.

Father.

It was him.

He broke my neck.

......

I sat straight up, when I looked to the side my neck hurt like....

My soulmate....

"I need to find her! Where is she?" I had yelled that bit. I got up quickly, I tore off the cast around my neck and ran through the hospital halls. The light blue walls gave off a deep smell that surrounded my nose. Fresh paint, and other doctors.

I ran to a random hall before cursing aloud. One doctor spun around and looked at me, I ran back to my hospital room and sat down. I could tell she was chasing me, she must be a wolf by how fast she is. I slammed into the bed, hurting my neck more.

I quickly covered myself up with the sheet, pretending to still be asleep. The crick of the door and rustle of the sheet made it obvious I was awake. The doctor leaned against the door frame. "You saw your soulmate?" She laughed for a moment. "Are you freaked out about how pretty they are?"

I pulled the sheets down with a sigh. "No." She looked at me confused. "Then what?" I looked at her this time, without blinking. "In my dream she was stabbed in the leg with surgical scissors." She seemed to calm down a little. "In her house?" I nodded. "Or at least it looked like her house."

She gave me a simple nod before stepping closer to my vitals, she adjusted pretty much everything and put on a new cast. "I'm letting you go, check up is in a week, go get your soulmate." She was calm but formal, I wouldn't skip my appointment, last time I did because the doctor was some karen.

I nodded before grabbing my phone and leaving. I signed the paper to check out and paid the fee. I called a taxi and had them drive back to my house. The taxi passed a white house with a wood gate, the house seemed so familiar.

Probably because it was a house in my neighborhood. I ignored the house and told the guy to stop right here, I got off and paid him 20 bucks. He drove off and I walked the rest of the way to my house.

The asphalt driveway scraped by shoes and gave me chills, the red truck sitting on the left of me showed the cast on my neck, I looked like a monster. I searched my pocket for my key and opened the door. My dad had been sitting on the couch looking so stressed out. "You're too expensive." He looked at me with his hair a mess and the bags under eyes made him look so rough. His thoughts got to him again.

"I paid for the hospital and i'm paying every damage you did, don't worry." He gave me a certain look, making me look down. He got up and stood straight at me looking down without moving his head. He grabbed my chin and made me look up at him. He caressed my cheek, like a loving father would to his only son.

.......

The slap had still hurt. If I was supposed to "toughen up" then why does he have to be rough with me like I was some punching bag that's less expensive than him. According to him he's worth more than me. According to him I need to be strong. According to him I need to find a perfect girl.

I pulled my cracked phone out of my pocket and unlocked it before swiping through my feed. Males kept popping up with cute couple photos, of course my feed had to brag. I swapped apps and started reading My Night In Leather, I was caught trying to figure out what the heck would happen next.

I scrolled and scrolled until the last chapter was over. It had been a little bit and I wasn't that hungry but my father would be. I got up and left my phone in my pocket, I grabbed the pasta and started cooking some spaghetti. I know my father loves spaghetti, especially the recipe I was going to use.

A little bit into the cooking, a buzz on my phone made me tingle. I looked at my notifications and it was from Jake.

I scrolled up to make sure it was Jake, his messages were still there

I scrolled up to make sure it was Jake, his messages were still there. What girl was he talking about? I texted him back. What if it was Jade? I swear this better not be a prank. I thought for a moment.

What if it's my soulmate?
