It was Jade.
He showed me a picture of Jade.
I texted him back, I was annoyed with myself and him. It was night time by now, he was probably on a date with Jade. Another reason why I shouldn't date her. I sighed, the clock on my phone read 10:12, it was late.
I looked up at the ceiling, the one blood stain my father could never repaint for some reason. Or maybe it was my fault. I could barely tell the blood stain was there, although the memory of why it was there was a different story.
When it happened I was young, he had never even thought of hurting me before. Or he did and I never picked up on it. He had asked 7 year old me to go hand-make some pizza, me barely being able to tie my shoe, refused.
The memory of his angry face and the terrified look in my eyes gave me chills of nostalgia. He stepped closer and closer and instead of lightly slapping my arm when I normally do something bad, he lost it.
The tears started flowing out of my baggy eyes and I tried to hold them back but they broke out, the river of salty tears rushing to my neck and farther down to my shirt. I removed the shirt and shoved it in the laundry basket.
I scrunched up the inky sheets and the smoky blanket was scratching me on the side as I chucked it off. I can't cry now. I have to calm down. The heat from my hands started catching on the bed. I quickly wiped it away and went to my bathroom to shove cool water on my face.
My messy pitch black hair and my deep blue eyes made me look like I had just been through a tornado. I turned on the shower and shoved my under garnets off and hopped in. I sat there as the hot water ran and ran, the water started turning cold. I got up and turned the shower off. The tears wouldn't stop and I wouldn't get out of this shower. I sat back down and laid there.
The thoughts came back, and my head started dozing off.
........
I woke up in panic as the feisty demons from my dream had just attacked me. I looked around to make sure I was alive, my naked body and the damp shower made me think I was drunk last night but the memories came and I got up.
I went into my closet and found a pair of jeans and a sweater. I put the rest of my clothes on and combed my rat nest of a hair style, the comb just about breaking from the knots and my hand was about to die.
The bag I had was old but still intact, it was a regular backpack so it carried more things. I put it on and walked out of my room, my neck still hurt but the cast wasn't necessary considering how fast my skin and bones would close up.
Today was a study day, I had so many missing assignments and the school year had barely begun. I actually had to study today, the study hall would be a good place for that, quiet, and tons of books. I loved reading Gottus Hammerlock books, they were more nerdy then the history books in the study hall, but they gave stories and places that I could only imagine.
I went through the halls and into the study hall, I sat down near the far side, away from others but close enough to yell and they would hear me. I got up and started looking for the animal facts book that I needed for my class.
A girl in a section next to me seemed to be struggling to find a book, I was going to help her but it would be weird for the popular 'bad guy' to help her so I left her alone and continued searching. 'marine life' 'animal history' "Where is it?" I sighed to myself. I looked to the side to see if the girl found her book and she had backed up right into another mans desk.
"H-" I was about to scream but the guy saved her, she still hit her back but not nearly as hard. I could tell the boy was a player, Jake's type except less popular. She kept staring at him even after she found a book.
I was going to warn her about him but mistakes have to be made, or at least that's what I was taught. I finally found my book and read for the rest of the day, I wrote my missing essays and continued to meet the standards for every class I had and my work was done.
The girl kept staring at the guy. If they were soulmates the boy wouldn't be laughing behind his book with a devilish smirk and the girl definitely wouldn't be smiling at him.
This girl was about to be in some serious drama.
