TW: Blood, gore, weapons and fighting are mentioned and described.
The knife in my hand had red designs of dragons and tints of blood on the sharp blade, it was small but strong. Thorn had left and both men in front of me were laughing."Think that since i'm a young girl, i'm weak?"
They laughed. "Just like the scaredy cat that left!" They turned toward each other and continued laughing, and the moment their heads were turned away, I decided to attack. The knife slashed against the larger man's face, leaving a clean cut with blood dripping down.
"Feisty. I like it." They both came after me with bare fists, I had to try and dodge each punch and it felt terrible when their fists collided with my face. The bruise left me a tad bit startled but I jumped back into the fight, the knife slashed against both of there legs as I swooped down, the younger one wimped in pain for a moment but re-gained focus after a few minutes.
It was easier fighting the older one, he was ragged and unbalanced. The other was quick on his feet but didn't know how to pack a punch. "I underestimated you." The older one ended up pausing the fight to speak. "I'll give you a deal." I focused on him as we all caught our breath.
"We can make amends. If you become a hitman. Or hitwoman or whatever you call it." I looked at him, it wasn't something I would want to do. "Who's the victim?" He smiled towards me, it was an evil smile with his glare seeming to be attacking my vision.
"Why, Thorn of course!"
I grasped the bloody knife in my hand and walked up to him. "Do you think i'm stupid enough to kill my own soulmate?" The knife pierced his head as I brought it up. I could feel my blood boiling the farther into his skull I got until I took out the knife and stabbed him in his abdomen.
"You're so stupid."
He was on the floor. I had just called Thorn's dad stupid and he's about to die. I don't regret a single thing. The man in front of me panted, trying to heal himself but I put my foot on his leg, stopping him. "Why? Why are you so bad towards your son?" He looked at me with horror. "Why do you think? I've always liked Scales more and after Scales ruined it by ripping off his wing I had to get revenge. Why else would I?" He seemed straightforward and his hair was messed up.
The blood seeping out of his head gave him pain that I wish I could make worse. Scales just stood there, staring at his father and me. "Scales. Why did you rip off Thorn's wing in the first place?" He looked away. "He stole the glasses grandpa gave to me before he died." I looked down. I mean, it wasn't that bad right?
The older man, Thorn's dad, seemed to be taking his last breath as my thoughts came to a close. "Say your last words, old one." He stared at the blood ridden ceiling.
"I've loved Thorn. All my life. It was my fault she died, I taught him everything."
His breath came to a close. And I stood there. Watching. The corpse seemed to rot before my eyes and the body turned cold. I turned towards Scales. "I'll be after you Rein. You, of all people, know what's been happening in your room at night. Expect more visits." Scales just jumped out the window.
What did I just hear? Is he the guy...
I looked down towards my bloody hands and gave myself a moment to put things together.
I killed a man, figured out who's been in my room, and Thorn isn't here.
Whose idea was it to send him away to safety? Oh right. Mine.
I left the disgusting house, I brought the knife, Thorn might want it.
I was off, back to my house we go!
