I was so excited!
Me and my dad have never went to a fancier restaurant unless we saved up money. I've never been more thankful for Thorn in my life! I looked at Thorn and then back at the window. Did he do this because I saved his life? Either way I'm grateful!
"Thorn, thank you so much for this." He looked at me and smiled. "Anything for you Rainy day." I blushed and looked away. "Ooooooooo! You two would make an awesome couple!" My dad was basically encouraging me to date him at this point.
Thorn was about to say something but didn't. "Thorn, really, thank you." He smirked at me this time, thinking of a name. "Of course my majesty of rein and power!" He tried doing a bow in his seat but failed miserably and we both laughed.
We pulled into the restaurant and it was really fancy. Most people who lived here weren't rich but had money, this restaurant was a lot fancier than I expected. As we walked in, I could tell the waitress was giving us dirty looks and made us wait in the back, allowing others to cut in front. "Excuse me! Why do they get to budge in the line?" Thorn seemed a little mad about it.
The waitress came over and smiled at us. "Obviously they can actually afford this place and know how to get money, you might as well leave." My dad was anxious and I looked down. "And why do you think we can't afford this place?"
He laughed at us. "I've been here before, with my dad. I don't see why we can't come." He scoffed as we tried to get a table. "And who's your dad, the janitor?" Another waitress was laughing just overhearing the conversation. "I always carried my dad's business card in my wallet let me grab it." About three waiters were now waiting on Thorn. He shoved the business card in their face. "So he's the janitor of that company?" Everyone laughed, even people in line.
Thorn gave them a stern face. "Higher rank." The waiter scoffed. "Employee?" He seemed nervous. "Higher." He was officially nervous. "Y'know what, let me tell you something." Thorn broke the business card. "I figured you would recognize me, but since you don't let me tell you something." The waiter seemed scared. "If I told you my name, do you think you would recognize me?" The waiter stuttered as he spoke. "There's lots of different names-"
"Thorn." The waiter broke the moment he heard his name. "Yes. Come with me." Thorn shook his head. "People nowadays!" Thorn was making me uncomfortable. He was trying his best but, it didn't feel like him, yelling at the waiter.
We were seated down, we ended up skipping the line but it was whatever. "So what would you guys like?" Thorn seemed irritated. "Crab. Just crab and some soda." The waiter nodded and turned to us. "And you?" I scanned the menu and picked something called Pâtes et parmesan supplémentaire. It seemed french so I figured it was good.
I planned on talking to Thorn outside so I didn't pay attention to my order. After my dad ordered I told Thorn we needed to talk, privately. He nodded and we both went outside.
"Thorn. Are you okay?" He looked at me weird. "Obviously! Just irritated." I looked at him, seriously. "Thorn, i'm grateful, but was it necessary to get all mad like that?" He straightened himself. "Rein, I would do anything for you." He had his hands on my shoulders. "I appreciate that but is it really what you want to do?" He put his hands down. "I just don't want to go back home." I looked at him, this time sympathetically. "Thorn, I get that but-"
"Rein!" I was confused. "Just... nevermind. I'm going back inside." He went back inside. I shrugged and followed him. Apparently the Pâtes et parmesan supplémentaire was just pasta with extra parmesan.
We all enjoyed are dinner and dad agreed we could have a sleepover since it was already late.
I grabbed a few extra blankets and a pillow and put them on the floor. Thorn eventually went back to our normal selves, no angry waiters or mad Thorn's here! The day sped by faster than normal.
Thorn layed down on the floor and I stopped him. "Excuse me! What do you think you're doing?" Thorn looked confused. "You're sleeping on the bed. You are my guest." He gave me a stern face. "Nuh-uh! I'm your guest so I sleep on the floor!" This man! "Unless you wanna call off the sleepover..." He sighed at that and layed down on my bed. "Goodnight!" He was already asleep. I knew my bed was comfortable!
I started to get tired and I fell asleep. I let the night take over me, and my dreams casted a shadow over my body.
