My feelings were like a ball pit.
You lose one thing you never get it back unless you dig deep enough.
My hand still stung but pain is just life.
Right?
........
I saw him. The man again.
In a room.
Defending his life against what seemed to be,
me.I was fighting a man and he seemed to be scared. He shoved his nails into my skin, desperate for air. And he collapsed.
Maybe it represents the fact of me never finding my soulmate, or having one. Maybe I was too scary? Or maybe this monster is what I should be? I just stared at the man, on the floor, dying. He seemed so familiar, like a close friend? I don't have any other male friends when I think of it. Other than...
Thorn,
Thorn. That's who it is. Scraggly hair and messed up bones. Who is he to me?
Who do I want him to be?
........
I woke up.
Scared for my life, and Thorn's. I scanned the room as the sun went up, Thorn was sleeping in my room last night. "Thorn...?" I was wondering if he was awake. I felt like we needed to speak to each other, and I was curious about his dreams.
"yeah? I'm awake if you wanna talk or something." He seemed so tired and lifeless. "Can we talk about something?" He yawned and sat up with a tired expression on his face. "Come. Sit on the bed and we can speak." He patted on a spot and I sat down next to him.
"What is it?" He looked confused as his messy hair scrambled over his eyes. "Have you had any weird dreams lately?" He looked away, toward the window. "I guess?" I remembered talking about a dream a few hours ago.
"I think... you were in my dream." He chuckled toward himself for a moment and then burst out laughing, and I was just confused! "What's so funny!" He had to calm himself down for a moment. "You've been seeing a man in your dreams correct?"
"Yeah? What about it?" He slapped my leg in a way that made it sting for a moment. "What was that for?" He laughed. "For being an idiot! You've been seeing a random man in your dreams, and just now you realise it's been me? Have you even thought about what that means?"
I thought about it for a moment. "It could mean anything though." He sighed and grasped my hands. "Think about it. Think Rein. Why would I be in your dreams?" I looked into his eyes and I was still confused as hell! "I mean I have been seeing my soulmate lately but that would mean..."
I could tell he was chuckling inside at my stupidity. But if what I said was true, then Thorn, a powerful dragon, was my soulmate. "Rein, I should probably go. You need time to think." He stood up and was about to leave, we had school today and all I wanted to do was be here with him.
He looked behind his back, towards me. His warm smile seemed so pretty as the sunlight dazzled in his eyes. And I didn't want him to leave. "Thorn. If I needed time to think, I would've kicked you out already." I stood up and did the first thing that came to my mind.
I grabbed his arm, stopping him from leaving, and kissed his light pink lips. I let go and he seemed taken aback and I was embarrassed. "Thorn, i'm sor-" He crashed his lips back into mine and we shared a long kiss, this time, I wasn't embarrassed. "You don't have to be sorry now my raindrop." I gave him a disgusted look. "Raindrop?" He laughed. "Nevermind that."
I could hear my parents talking in the kitchen now. "Let's go eat something! I'm starving!" He grabbed me and put me over his shoulders. "Hay! Put me down!" He pretended not to hear me and went off to the living room. "Goodmorning!" My parents looked over at Thorn and me and laughed.
"You two look so cute together! Too bad you two aren't soulmates!" My mother was cheerful this morning. Thorn put me down and sat at the table. "I wanted to tell you something, mom, dad, come sit down." My dad was making a smoothie and after he finished he sat down and my mom was making herself cereal.
"I actually found my soulmate!" My parents both gave shocked expressions. "Who! Honey tell me! I would love to meet them!" I stared at Thorn and he nodded, we read each other's minds. "Well then it's nice to meet you." My mom gave out an excited squeal. "You two are perfect for each other! My gorgeous daughter is a good looking man!" I blushed and Thorn laughed.
"That's too much laughing for today sir." I rolled my eyes as I spoke. And as I thought more and more about me and Thorn's future together, I forgot about the past.
If he's my soulmate, then what the hell does his father do to him?
