Rein's parents were nice and I was happy that she had figured it out. It made me feel wise when she didn't know, like it was a secret. I heard the buzz of my phone and checked the text message.

"Crap!" Rein looked at me, confused and alerted. "What is it?" I smiled toward her and politely stood up. "I have to go. Thank you for everything." I was ready to go but Rein grasped the back of my shirt and tugged on it. "What's wrong? ... Did I do something wrong?"

I turned toward her and whispered into her ear. "No. I just have some... issues." As I was bending down my phone flipped toward her and the moment her eyes read the screen, she freaked out. even upside down she could read it! I paused, thinking of what to do.

The words she spoke were calming but also seemed to be targeting someone. "I swear Thorn. I knew those dreams I saw of you were..." She rambled on and then grabbed my arm, she was stronger than expected. "Mom, I have some business to take care of, if I come back with a dead body and some scratched, i'm fine." She seemed concerned and I mouthed to her, "we wont do that" As she laughed.

Rein tugged me out of the house and we started walking toward the other side of the neighborhood. "I heard the houses over there are the richest, is that true?" I nodded, most houses were fancier and had things like a bigger living room and bigger bedrooms the closer you got to the mountains that stretched for miles.

We got to my house and I could feel the buzzes of my phone in my pocket. "Rein, wait out here, my dad's a little chaotic." I was scratching my neck, she seemed to know everything. "I know what your dad does to you, and if you come out of this gosh darn house with a bruise, I will not contaminate my anger issues." I smiled. "Deal." I went inside and the house was a mess, like an actual bear walked inside the house and became Rein's anger issues in five seconds.

"I'm home." I walked into the living room and my dad stared at me with hatred. "Y'know. You would think that my son would be better at keeping promises. After all Scales did a better job than you. You deserved it and to be honest I never liked that woman that you called your mom anyways." Scales looked toward him, his words offended him but he was still on his side.

"You, of all people, know it was a mistake and I am still terribly sorry for what I did." His glare and his wicked suit seemed to give the room a gloomy feeling. Scales looked toward the man and he nodded, I didn't understand but the moment the box came into view I immediately wanted to leave.

"Come on Thorn. Open the box." I shook my head over and over. "Thorn. Open the box. Now." I walked over and opened the maroon colored box. I immediately backed away the moment I saw the knife. I could still see the spark of blood.

"No..." My father smirked. "You did it to her. Do it to yourself and i'll forgive you." I shook my head back and forth as the memories creeped into my mind.

......

I was smiling, walking through the hallways.

I was cheerful, I just aced a test my father had given me,

with the same knife I used to kill her.

I was going to show her my cool trick with the knife dad had given me.

"Mommy! Mommy! Look at this cool trick- WOAH!"

I tripped, the knife flew into her eye and I remember scattering on the floor.

My dad was drunk and Scales was standing there,

confused.

"I didn't mean too!"

"Please! I swear-"

"How dare you... she was gorgeous..."

.......

I stared at the knife.

"I deserve it don't I?"

They both nodded. And the moment I grabbed the knife, my soul seemed to leave my body as the front door swung open and Rein came in. "I heard everything, and to be honest, I didn't think you would do it. Thorn back up." Scales and my father were immediately on there feet.

"What's a girl gonna do?" I was still holding the knife and Rein turned toward me, grabbing my hands. "Thorn. I'm gonna need you to grab everything valuable you own in the house and run towards my house."

She gave me sympathetic eyes and grabbed the knife from my hands.

"Thorn. I'll be fine. And if i'm not, you better be there."
