Amie
I flopped onto my bed, feeling flustered and overwhelmed. My mind was a jumble of thoughts, all centered around Mahir. I glared at the ceiling, wondering what he was thinking, whether he was happy to be here, and whether he still thought of me as his annoying little friend.
Just then, my brother's knock on the door broke the spell. "Amie, come downstairs for lunch!"
I took a deep breath, preparing myself for another encounter with Mahir. I made my way downstairs, my heart racing with anticipation.
As I joined everyone at the dining table, I noticed Mahir was nowhere to be seen. I whispered to my brother, "Where's Mahir?"
"He must be coming," Ritik bhai replied with a grin.
Just then, Mahir walked in, his smile brightening the room. "Hello, everyone!"
My eyes met his briefly, and I felt my cheeks flush. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and white pants, and I couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked.
My brother noticed my gaze and teased, "Amie, are you smiling at Mahir?"
I felt my face burn with embarrassment as everyone turned to look at me. I whined, "Dad, make him shut up!"
Mahir chuckled, and my heart skipped a beat. I couldn't believe how much he affected me.
"Okay, okay, let's eat," my dad intervened, saving me from further embarrassment.
I tried to focus on my food, but my eyes kept drifting towards Mahir, who was chatting with my parents and brother like they were old friends.
We all started eating, suddenly uncle caught our attention after we heard his voice
"Amie what are you doing?" Uncle asked.
Arehh yaarr! I'm nervous already and uncle asked me this! Now everyone's gaze is on me again waiting for me to answer.
"I'm in my final year of graduation" I said.
"Ohh nice" Uncle said with a smile. After some time we finished eating.
Well, mahir is still here i guess he will go to his room too. I'll avoid him, I know it is impossible but yeah still.
I am going to my room to avoid any encounter with him atleast now. I rose from my seat and went towards the stairs.
I was about to go up when someone grabbed my hand from behind and i turned to only find mahir.
WHAT!! My soul left my body saying goodbye to me.
"Uh..you have something in your hair wait" he said.
His fingers brushed against my hair, sending shivers down my spine. I felt like he was touching my soul. My heart raced faster, pounding in my chest like a drum. I couldn't look away from his piercing eyes, even if I wanted to.
"It's just a piece of thread," he said, his voice low and gentle. "But it was tangled in your beautiful hair."
I felt my face flush, my cheeks burning with embarrassment. But Mahir's smile put me at ease. He wasn't teasing me, he was genuinely helping me.
"Thank you," I murmured, my voice barely audible.
Mahir's gaze held mine for a moment longer, then he smiled and turned back. I breathed a sigh of relief, my heart still racing from the touch of his fingers. It was just a simple gesture, but it felt like so much more.
