Amie
I stood there, my heart still racing from the surprise of seeing Mahir in the kitchen. "I'm making cookies," he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Do you like cookies?"
I tried to sound nonchalant, but my voice came out a bit rude. "Hmm."
He didn't seem to mind, though. He dipped a spoon into the bowl of cookie dough and brought it to my mouth. I tasted it, and my eyes widened in surprise. It was the best cookie dough I'd ever had. But I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing that.
"Umm ok ok" I said, trying to sound bored.
But then he dropped a bombshell. "You look cute with your hair open," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
I gasped, my face flushing. What was I supposed to say to that?
I stood there, feeling awkward, as he continued making cookies. Finally, he announced, "Cookies will be done in 15 minutes."
I muttered a reply, still feeling flustered. But then he asked me if I was upset, and I couldn't help but snap at him. "Haan, why didn't you tell me you're joining as a professor in my uni?"
He laughed. "I was just teasing you and wanted to see your shocked face."
I glared at him, feeling my face heat up. "Kuch bhi."
But then he said, "Now you're looking even cuter."
I couldn't help but smile, feeling my heart flutter. "Umm... I think 15 minutes are up," I said, trying to hide my flustered face. I quickly went to the kitchen.

I walked into the dining room, greeted by the warm smiles of Mahir's family. "Good morning everyone," I said, feeling a sense of belonging.
Mahir's mom apologized for leaving me out of their plans the previous day, and I brushed it off with a smile. My eyes met Ritik's, and I was surprised to see him beaming at me without a hint of teasing. Maybe he's finally decided to behave around me, I thought.
As we chatted about our day, mom asked me to call Mahir for breakfast. I climbed the stairs, my footsteps quiet on the carpet. I approached his room, and my heart skipped a beat as I saw the door slightly open.
Without thinking, I stepped forward, and my eyes met a sight that made my face flush. Mahir was standing in front of the mirror, his chest bare, his hair mussed. I felt like an intruder, my eyes fixed on his chiseled physique.
I quickly closed my eyes and spun around, my face burning with embarrassment. "Oh shit, I'm so... I'm sorry... I should have knocked on the door," I muttered, my voice barely audible.
How could I be so stupid?! I berated myself, my face still burning with shame.
