Chapter-20 Pufferfish

I sat watching her and within few minutes she fell asleep again. Few seconds ago she was saying that no I won't sleep, I have to complete it blah blah!

How can one fall asleep in two minutes. I thought about waking her up but when I saw her innocent face, huh it would be better to her let sleep.
I'll complete the assignment for her.

I picked her up in my arms and carried her to her bed. Trying not to wake her up, I gently laid her down on the bed and lifted the blanket over her.

I switched off the lights as she was sleeping and lit the lamp on the study table and started writing the assignment.

I was also very sleepy but I can't sleep before completing it, I dont want her to get scolded by professor. But how can one give so much to write at one time?

I sighed, after two hours I completed the assignment.

Amie

"Mahir....mahir!" I said trying to wake him up. After few more seconds he woke up rubbing his eyes and turned his head.
"huh? Whatttttttt?" He screamed seeing me.

"Kya hogya kyu chowk gaye mujhe dekh ke?"

(What happened? Why are you so shocked seeing me?")

"Woh mujhe aadat nahi haina tumhara khubsurat chehra subeh subeh mere bedroom mai dekhne ki!" He said with his dreamy eyes and smile on his lips.
(I'm not used to seeing your beautiful face in my bedroom early in the morning!")

My heart skipped a beat, is he flirting with me really!?

"S-stop teasing me and t-this isn't y-your bedroom" I said stuttering.
"Ohh haa sorry i dont know when did I fell asleep here"He said face palming himself.

"It's Ok, but why did you wrote my assignment"

"Because you slept and it was important as you said so i thought to help you thoda sa" He said while I was looking him.

"Thank you so much mahir!" I said smiling.
"It's ok amie" He said and left as we both have to get ready for college.

Amie went downstairs for breakfast with her bag after getting ready so did mahir and seated on the dining table.

"Mom what's for breakfast today??" Amie asks stepping towards her mom inside kitchen.

"Poha" Her mom says and took the poha to the dining table.

"Mom you know na i don't like poha i won't eat it sorry" Amie said whining following her mom like a puppy from dining to the kitchen.

While mahir couldn't help but smile at her.

"Haa mujhe sab nakhre pata hai tere isiliye maine parathe bhi banaye hai!" Her mom says.
(Yes, I know all your tantrums, that's why I have made parathas too)

"Yay!!! thank you mumma you're the best" Amie says giggling and giving a thumbs up.

"Pata nahi tera kya hoga shaadi ke baad itne nakhre kon jhel payega tere!"

(I don't know what will happen to you, who will be able to bear your tantrums after marriage!)

"I will" Mahir said out loudly making Amie and her mom shock for a moment.

"I-i mean...aunty i will eat poha...hahaha I like poha" He said stuttering and gave a tight lipped smile.

"Haa ye lo na beta" Amie's mom says serving poha on his plate.

While amie was confused about what just happened was he talking about poha only?

He could feel her stare but he just ignored making eye contact with her.

"Today evening we all will go for engagement shopping so you both come home early" Suhani ji says to mahir and amie.

"Ji aunty" Mahir said.

Amie didn't reply as she was busy stuffing her mouth with paratha she looked like a pufferfish as her mouth was full stuffed.

"Koi churane wala nahi hai tera paratha aaram se kha jara" Her mom said smacking her shoulder.

(No one is going to steal your paratha, eat properly)

"Mhm" She replies.

Her mom left and went inside the kitchen.

Mahir chuckles and clicks a picture of her pufferfish face without letting her know.

"Aww how adorable you're looking" He says staring at her picture.

"What are you talking about?" Amie asked.

"Pufferfish" He chuckles.

"What?" She said raising her eyebrow.

"Nothing" He said.

He edits her saved name from amie to pufferfish.

They both left for university in car and Mahir started driving.

"What's your favourite colour?" Amie asked glancing at mahir.

"Yellow" He said looking straight ahead on the road.

"Hmm okay" Amie said with a nod.

"Yours?"

"Blue"

"Okay"

They reached university and parted their ways. Amie went to her class amna and anurag were already seated. Amie invites anurag amna and their family to her brother's engagement which is after two days.

Also amie asks amna to help her with shopping today but she refuses as she will be busy as it is her nephew's birthday.

Amie was disappointed but then anurag said that he can help her.

"Then meet me at 8:00pm okay I'll text you the location" Amie saidsaid

"Ji madam jaisa aap kahe" Anurag says dramatically bowing in front of her.

(Yes madam as you say!)

Professor enters the class and everyone greets the professor and took their respective seats.
