Amie

"Are you a wild animal? Let it cook first" I said glaring at anurag as he was eating half cooked meat. Idiot
" I'm a person." He said stuffing another bite in his mouth.

"You guys stop talking and eat." Amna said to both of us glaring. She wanted to eat fast and play games so she's forcing us also eat, eat, eat.
It was dark now and we were having chicken skewers for dinner.

Everyone seated making several circles and enjoying with there friends. Amna anurag and other friends from our class rishabh, prathana, aarohi and samir we made a circle too.

Samir is topper in our class also prathana second topper. They don't talk much so people call them nerds. Aarohi and rishabh are friends of amna.

We all decided to play "staring contest" we have to stare intensely into each other's eyes blinking is allowed but smiling or laughing is not

We all decided to play "staring contest" we have to stare intensely into each other's eyes blinking is allowed but smiling or laughing is not. And other can dance or do whatever they want in the background first person to smile or laugh loses. It's quite interesting better than that classic truth or dare game. Amna will be host of this game.

"Okay we made chits of girls names and boys names i will pick one one from both whoever's name will be on chit will be playing" Amna explained standing in the middle.

We started the game amna picked up the chits we were staring at her. "Ohhh it's me hahaha... " She said smiling.
"And who's the guy? please don't say my name" Anurag muttered.
"Unfortunately it's you" Amna said.
"Are yaar" Anurag started whining.

"Hey hey let the show begin" Aarohi said with a chuckle to them.

They started staring at eachother i think anurag will win I know amna can't control her laugh.

Aarohi and rishabh started cracking jokes and making weird faces to make them laugh and as i said amna lost in few seconds only.
"Easy huh" Anurag said running his fingers through his hair.

"Yaar maine nahi khelna" Amna said whining.
"Tu khel bhi nahi sakti ab next chits utha" Samir said teasing her.

We were engaged in the game when someone's voice grabbed our attention
"Enjoying the game" the familiar voice mahir!
"Yes sir" we all said.

"Okay continue, but don't go in the woods it's not safe." He said this and was about to leave when aarohi's voice interrupted him "sir please join us" She said so did amna
"Yes sir please join us"

I'm sure he will say no but i want him to join.

"No no I'm fine." He declined.
"Please sir please" aarohi said.
"Umm.. Ok" He said sitting beside me.

Yeahh!!

We added mahir's name chit with remaining chits. And continued our game next pair were rishabh and aarohi they were staring intensely but we managed to make them laugh anyways we four are left only now.
Amna picked the chit and opened both chits her mouth curved into a smile she looked at me and said "Amie and mahir sir!"
My heartbeat accelerated!!!

Calm down amie it's just a game calm down.

I looked at him and he was already staring.
"Okay start" Amna said.

I adjusted myself turning into face to face with him and we locked our eyes together. His eyes against mine. We just kept staring at each other don't know how long.

"Wow! You both win" Aarohi said slaping slightly on my shoulder.

That's when our staring contest broke and I released the breath which I didn't know i was holding or should I say i forgot to breathe? My cheeks are flushed i looked away trying to hide my face.

"Umm we must say you both didn't even budge" Samir said.

"Enough guys you all should sleep it's late go to your tents now." Said mahir and we all nodded and parted our ways to tents. Almost everyone went to their tents. Me and amna was on our way to tent when someone whispered from behind "hey"
We turned to find aarohi.
"What?" Amna asked her. Aarohi asked us if we would like to go for a walk with her I refused but amna wanted to go. I told her to come back in 30 minutes and they left.

I waited for what felt like an eternity, but Amna was nowhere to be found. I had told her not to go, but she never listened. Panic set in as I scanned the deserted campsite. Everyone was asleep, and I was alone with my fears.

I mustered up the courage to search for Amna, my heart racing with every step. Suddenly, I felt a presence behind me, and my blood ran cold. I screamed and ran, not daring to look back.

"Amie, it's me, Mahir!" I heard him yell, but I didn't stop until I was sure I was safe. When I finally turned around, Mahir was standing before me, concern etched on his face.

"I'm sorry, I scared you," he said, his eyes apologetic.

I nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. "What are you doing outside?" he asked, his brow furrowed.

I explained the situation, and his expression turned serious. "I'll find them," he said, his jaw set.

I insisted on coming with him, and after some resistance, he agreed. As we ventured into the dense woods, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The darkness seemed to swallow us whole, and I clung to Mahir's hand, my heart pounding in my chest.

He told me a spooky story about a ghost that roamed the forest, and I playfully hit him, trying to hide my fear. But deep down, I was terrified. What if we didn't find Amna? What if something happened to us?

As we walked deeper into the woods, the only sound being the rustling of leaves beneath our feet, I couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead. Would we find Amna, or would we become the forest's latest victims?
