This novel featuring Amie and her childhood friend, Mahir. It's a delightful tale of friendship, lost connections, and the power of rekindling old flames.
Amie, a cheerful girl, had always carried a secret crush for Mahir during their childhood day...
I tossed and turned in bed, my mind racing with excitement. Tomorrow, Mahir will be arriving in India after 15 long years. My childhood friend, my first crush. I couldn't wait to see him again.
Memories flooded my mind as I lay there, my heart racing with anticipation. We used to live in the same house, because of our parents they are best friends. We were inseparable back then. But then they moved to America, and I was left with only memories.
My brother Ritik poked his head into my room, a teasing glint in his eye. "Amie, calm down. It's just Mahir coming back. You're acting like a crazy fan girl."
I threw a pillow at him. "Get lost, bro! This is a big deal for me."
He chuckled and retreated, leaving me to my excitement. I knew I had to sleep early, as we were leaving for the airport at dawn to pick Mahir up. But my mind was racing, wondering what he looked like now, if he was still the same charming boy I remembered.
I finally drifted off to sleep, my dreams filled with blurry visions of Mahir's bright smile and sparkling eyes. Tomorrow couldn't come soon enough.

The next day
"Amie, wake up, you idiot!" Ritik's voice pierced through the silence, making me jolt awake. I rubbed my eyes, disoriented, and sat up with a start. "Mom and Dad left already?" I asked, my voice laced with panic.
Ritik nodded, a smirk on his face. "Yeah, they left like 20 minutes ago. You overslept, lazy bones!"
I facepalmed myself, groaning in frustration. "Amie, you idiot!" I muttered, throwing off the covers and rushing towards the bathroom.
After a quick shower and morning routine, I emerged feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day. I scanned my closet, my eyes landing on my favorite white kurti. I smiled, knowing it was the perfect choice for the day ahead.
I slipped it on, the soft fabric hugging my body comfortably. I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness as I prepared to meet Mahir after all these years.
I don't like to leave my hair down so i braid it. After getting ready, i looked in the mirror and satisfied with my look and came downstairs wondering when will mahir reach here. I saw my brother lying on the sofa with his phone.

Mahir's look
I hurried downstairs, my heart racing with excitement. My brother was lounging on the sofa, but as I entered, he stood up, his eyes fixed on the door. I followed his gaze, and my breath caught as I heard the sound of my father's car.
It took me a few seconds to process that Mahir had arrived. My brother moved towards the door, and I trailed behind him, my mind racing with anticipation.
Our parents entered first, followed by Mahir's. I exchanged brief greetings with them, but my eyes were scanning the room for him. And then, I saw him.
Ritik's voice broke the spell. "Look who's here, Mahir!"
My stomach flipped as I took in Mahir's tall, well-built frame, his bright smile, and piercing eyes. He was wearing white, just like me. Our eyes met, and I felt my heartbeat accelerate with each step he took towards me.
"Do you remember me, Amie?" he asked, his voice low and husky.
I stood dumbstruck, my mind blank. All I could manage was a weak "hmm" and an awkward smile. But Mahir just smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
My stomach did somersaults as our parents ushered Mahir and his parents towards the living room, telling them to rest. I stood there, frozen, my eyes fixed on Mahir.
"Amie," my dad called out, snapping me out of my trance.
"Huh?" I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Show Mahir his room, it's next to yours," he instructed, his eyes smiling.
What? He's going to be next to my room? Oh my god, I'm going to faint! My heart raced as I tried to play it cool, smiling and gesturing for Mahir to follow me upstairs.
I led the way, my legs feeling like jelly as I climbed the stairs. Mahir followed close behind, his presence making my skin tingle. I couldn't believe this was happening. The boy I had crushed on for years was now going to be sleeping just a wall away from me.
I pushed open the door to his room, trying to appear nonchalant. "Here you go, Mahir. Make yourself at home."
He smiled, his eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Thanks, Amie. This is great."
I nodded, feeling my face heat up. "Yeah, no problem. I'll just... um... go to my room then."
I quickly retreated to my own room, my heart racing with excitement. I couldn't believe Mahir was here, and he was going to be staying in the room next to mine.
