As Professor Mahir strode into the classroom, the chatter and whispers ceased, and the students' eyes fixed on him with a mix of respect and apprehension. Without a word, he commanded attention, his presence imposing and authoritative.
"I'll take numericals today," he announced, his deep voice filling the room. "We'll review what your previous professor covered. Let's see how many of you can solve them."
The students nodded, their faces set with determination. Mahir began writing on the board, his hand moving swiftly and precisely. The students scribbled furiously in their notebooks, trying to keep up.
Amie leaned over to Amna and whispered, "Do you know how to do this?" Amna shook her head, her eyes wide with uncertainty. Both girls sat in silence, their notebooks blank, as the minutes ticked by.
Mahir gave them a few minutes to work on the problem before asking, "Raise your hand if you got the answer."
A few students tentatively raised their hands, and Mahir's gaze swept the room, his eyes lingering on each student. When his eyes landed on Amie, she quickly looked down.
With a subtle nod,Mahir moved on, his eyes continuing to scan the room. Amie felt a pang of disappointment and anxiety, knowing she had failed to impress him.
Amie walked out of the lecture hall, my mind still reeling from the challenging numericals Mahir had assigned. Amie couldn't help but feel a sense of dread wash over her as she realized she was one of the few students who hadn't been able to solve the problem.
She hurried home, her feet carrying me swiftly across the campus grounds. As she entered her room and let out a sigh of relief and began to freshen up.
Just as she was finishing up, a knock on the door broke the silence. She opened it to find Mahir standing in the hallway, his eyes serious.
"Take your books and come to the drawing hall" mahir said curtly, his voice firm but not unkind.
Amie nodded, feeling a twinge of anxiety. "Is he going to scold me?" she groaned internally and grabbed books and followed him downstairs, her heart beating just a little bit faster.
As they walked to the drawing hall, she couldn't help but wonder what this was all about. "Was I in trouble? Had I done something wrong?" The questions swirled in her mind like a vortex, making her palms grow sweaty.
They entered the drawing hall, and Mahir gestured to her to take a seat.
Amie took a seat, her eyes fixed on mahir as he began to explain the numericals. His words were clear and concise, and she found herself grasping the concepts easily. As he handed her a notebook with questions, she smiled, feeling a sense of determination wash over her.
As she started solving the problems, Mahir couldn't help but stare at her. Her hair cascaded down her back like a golden waterfall, and her eyes shone with a fierce intensity. He felt himself getting lost in her beauty and hastily pulled out his phone to divert his attention.
Amie noticed him scrolling through his phone and wondered who he was texting. A girlfriend, perhaps? She felt a pang of curiosity and peeked at his phone, her mind racing with possibilities.
Just then, Mahir turned to her, and their foreheads touched, their lips inches apart. Amie swiftly moved her head, her heart racing. "Look, I solved it," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Mahir smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Good," he said, handing her more questions. Amie's mind raced with thoughts, her eyes fixed on his phone.
"Giving me more questions so you can text your girlfriend, huh?" she thought.
She couldn't control her curiosity anymore. "Is it a girl you're texting?" she asked, her voice laced with a hint of accusation.
Mahir chuckled. "Just a group of friends" he replied, his voice reassuring.
Amie felt a sigh of relief escape her lips. "Focus on your numericals, not me,"Mahir said.
Amie cleared her throat, her face flushing. "I wasn't focusing on you," she lied, her eyes fixed on her notebook.
Mahir leaned over, his voice low and husky. "Oh, really?" he asked, his eyes piercing through hers.
Amie's heart skipped a beat as she felt his warm breath on her skin. She knew she had to focus, but her mind was a jumble of emotions, her heart racing with excitement.
