Three months later,

Amie

I sat nervously, my heart racing with excitement, as I watched Mahir seated across from me, his yellow kurta a vibrant contrast to his bright smile. The haldi ceremony had begun, and our friends and family gathered around him, applying the yellow paste to his skin with laughter and cheers.

As they worked their way through the crowd, my mom and dad approached me, their eyes shining with tears. I felt a lump form in my throat as they gently applied the haldi to my skin, their hands trembling with emotion.

My mom's eyes locked onto mine, her gaze filled with a mix of happiness and sadness. "Our little Amie is getting married," she whispered, her voice cracking.

My dad's face was etched with a similar expression, his eyes misty as he smiled at me. "You look beautiful, beta," he said, his voice choked with emotion.

I felt a surge of love and gratitude for my parents, my heart overflowing with joy. Just then ritik bhai and bhabhi approached me, his nose red and expressions unreadable.

"Amie I'm so happy for you!!" bhabhi said applying haldi on my cheeks while bhai was beside her.

"What happened to him?" I asked bhabhi and she smiled "Nothing he's just emotional right now."

"Oh"

He bent down infront of me with a smile and teary eyes. "I'll miss you" he said and hugged. Aww my brother is crying for me!

"I'll miss you too"  i said and he applied haldi on my cheeks.

"Bhaiya we are in line too" anurag said from behind and bhai stepped back flashing a smile. I chuckle as I look at anurag and amna, their faces beaming with smile.

As the haldi was applied, I glanced at Mahir, who was now standing, his eyes locked onto mine.

The room was filled with laughter and music, the smell of haldi and turmeric filling the air.

Mahir

As I gazed at Amie, my heart skipped a beat. She was resplendent in her yellow lehenga, the haldi accentuating her radiant complexion. Her eyes sparkled like diamonds, and her smile could light up a thousand suns. I felt my chest swell with pride and gratitude, knowing I was the lucky one to have her.
