Elena sits like a queen perched on my chair like the freaking bird she is.

The old fried grannies seems to be content with it.

Those are the first two things I notice as me and Lycidas descend down the stairs hand in hand. She looks at our intertwined hands like she would look at her ex, angry and hateful.

I look at Lycidas , waiting for him to react and say something, "Alpha there are matters I'd like to discuss with you, urgently" Elena says producing a stack of papers from goddess knows where.

"Oh" is what he says, letting go of my hand.

Oh?

What the heck does that even mean? Oh, I see, so I'm just gonna let go of my mate and focus on you? Oh, that's marvelous let's go to my office and discuss some more? Oh? Oh, what?

"Baby come sit" he says motioning to the chair on his left where Mikael is supposed to sit.

"Sit where?" I ask him, hopping he'd say Elena would move but to my dismay he just says, "right next to me, Elena will move when we're done discussing the papers" I feel shattered. I place both my hands at my sides trying to stop myself from sending somebody flying right now, I hope he can read my eyes and see what he's doing, what he's breaking. But you know what they say, you can't break a broken heart.

"No thanks, you two can sit and do whatever you want. I'll sit somewhere else."

"Melody stop behaving like a child" he scolds, making the already silent table more quiet.

"Stop behaving like a child? Me? Don't fuck with me Alpha. Everytime I start to think we're progressing you take us ten steps back. This pathetic female has been in your bed for goddess knows how long, you let her sit on the chair that's supposed to be mine and you make it seems so normal that your whole pack doesn't even see it as a problem. I'm your beloved, your  mate, the one you're supposed to be with. The one you're supposed to be 'discussing papers' with, the one who's supposed to be sitting right there on that chair!." I scream my words out. Taking it off my chest finally.

"Lower your voice when speaking to the Alpha, young girl!" Scolds none other than fried brains.

"Old lady, don't make me do something I'll regret" I snap looking at her with narrowed eyes. The old woman stands up abruptly and slams her hand on the table.

"You've been one little brat since the day you were brought here, commanding everyone like you're part of the pack, speaking when you're not spoken too and however you want to, to whoever you feel like. Well, let me tell you something you don't know girly, the fact that Lord Alpha had commanded everyone here to act civil with you because you are new to our traditions won't stop me from telling you your business anymore. You don't belong here, you never did. A Fae, creature of the forest amongst beasts, creatures of the moon. Two creatures that have been enemies since the beginning of time. Your kind declared war on our ancestors and forefathers and almost wiped out their entire existence if they never went into hiding. The women you are busy fighting with have no right to fight you since you're not part of us, if they had, you'll be a pile of rotting flesh somewhere in the woods by now. The least you can do here is learn our culture and our ways, gain our trust, make us see the good in you that we never saw in your kind. Make us know that you are the rightful Luna. We've been fooled one too many times by previous females who came here wanting to make themselves our Luna, but it's high time all the madness stops. From today onwards, you will respect each and everyone here, from the newborn babies to the fried brains woman you see like a woman who wants to lead. Yes you are the Alpha's mate, but you're not his Luna yet nor are you ours." The only thing that was left for her to do was her to drop the mic, and somebody dropped a spoon in her stead.
