I had never been in the library. When I opened the door, I noticed a single light in the vast, dark space coming from what appeared to be a corner on the second floor. From what little I could see, the room appeard to be nearly as large as the libraries at Ouran. "Kyoya?" I instinctively whispered, but there was no reply. Turning to my right, I placed my hand on the wall and began to cautiously search for a staircase. While the light from the lamp kept me from running into tables and chairs, it wasn't enough to be able to see the room in it's entirety. As I made my way around the room and closer to the light, I was able to see more clearly. I could see the light reflecting off of ornate golden chandeliers hanging far above me, as well as glimmering golden accents in the woodwork along the walls. I was so absorbed in what opulence I could observe, that I didn't see the table in front of me. I ran straight into it, and my momentum carried me end over end across it's surface, landing flat on my back with a thud. I hit my head pretty hard on the floor, causing the room to spin on top of having the wind knocked out of me. In an instant, a second light came on, illuminating a rediculously extravagant staircase on the far wall. I could see Kyoya making his way down, and I tried to call out, but I couldn't seem to get my lungs to work. He looked around cautiously, not having seen me. I forced myself to expell what little air was left in my lungs as I tried to sit up, and I ended up sounding like a zombie rising from the dead. Kyoya stopped and looked straight at me. I must have looked horrible, because his expression dropped and he quickly made his way over to where I was.

"What happened?" He asked, concerned. I tried to speak, but my mouth just opened and closed like a fish. He helped me sit up as my lungs finally began to work again. "Are you hurt?" He asked more forcefully.

"Just... my pride." I admitted through gasps of sweet air. "I wasn't paying attention. I flipped over the table. Landed hard." As speaking and breathing became easier, Kyoya visably relaxed.

"You could have shouted. I would have turned on some lights." He helped me stand, keeping one arm around my waist to steady me.

"I called your name, but you didn't answer." I replied, mildly annoyed. "Why do you have all the lights off anyway?" I questioned. He lead me toward the staircase.

"Perhaps I like the darkness." He teased with a smirk and I couldn't help but smile.

"Yeah right, nice try." I threw back. As we reached the top of the stairs, Kyoya flipped a switch on the wall, turning off the light from the stairs. I tensed at the sudden darkness and Kyoya chucked.

"Don't worry, Kitten." He whispered in my ear, making me shiver. "There's no one here but you and I." I don't know why, but the thought excited me. Kyoya lead me through the darkness toward where I could see a single lamp lit on a desk, illuminating a stack of books and papers on the desktop and two chairs. He lead me to one, and removed a remote from the breast pocket of his school uniform. He pressed one button, and a faint whirring sound, that I hadn't noticed before, came to a stop. He pressed a second, and I could hear three faint clicks around the room.

"What was that?" I asked as he returned the remote to his pocket.

"In addition to this being a library, it's also designed to act as a saferoom. It's security system is completely isolated from the main system and is controlled by this remote." He explained as he patted his pocket.

"The clicks were the door locks." I observed aloud. "But what was the whirring sound?" Kyoya smiled.

"That was just the security cameras being turned off." He stated as he sat in the chair facing me. He stared into my eyes for a few seconds. It felt like he was looking into my soul, and I could feel a blush rising in my cheeks.
