~♫♫ You try to explain but before you can start, Those crybaby tears come out of the dark ♫♫~
3rd Person
The bell rung and the both of them got up, getting ready to go to their next lesson.
Will grabbed his bag, gently moving Mike so that he could get past him.
He turned to give Mike a small smile as a sorry, but he turned round to see Mike giving him the dirtiest look ever.
He swallowed the lump in his throat, and carried on walking to his last lesson.
Maths.
His maths class was close to his history one, so he reached it within a matter of minutes.
He opened the door, and sat down in his seat. He began to bounce his legs, it helped calm him down.
"Alright everybody, today we are doing-" The teacher started, but was cut off bu the door opening quite aggressively.
"Sorry we are late!" Mike quickly rushed in, his hand joined with Elevens.
"Michael. Jane." The teacher spoke coldly, staring at them as they made their way to their seats.
They sat on either side of Will, as that was their assigned seats, and began chatting away to each other.
"It was so boring, I was alone all day and I couldn't even watch TV because my parents are buying the newer one that was brought out so we didn't actually have one yet!" Mike continued his conversation from before, and Will was bored so he began to listen in.
"What did you do all day?" El grinned, interested in the story.
"I snuck out and went to Dustins. Me, him and Lucas all bad a day out because we hadn't hung out without any girls there for ages." Mike told her, and Will felt upset.
"I wasn't invited." He whispered to himself, and Mike's head shot towards Will.
"What did you say?" Mike glared at Will, who didn't realize he had said that out loud.
"Nothing." Will shrugged, turning his attention back to the teacher.
"Yeah you did? You said you weren't invited? And obviously not because Joyce never lets you just go out the same day you were asked." Mike scoffed, and Will felt his entire body freeze.
Joyce.
He hasn't seen his mum in years, after his dad had won custody of him.
"What?" Mike frowned, seeing Will's upset face.
"N-Nothing." He whispered, trying his best to get any thoughts of his mum out of his head.
"Uh, okay. Well anyway-" Mike continued to talk, but Will couldn't hear anything he was saying. He was too busy trying to distract himself from thoughts of his mum and brother.
He missed them both dearly, and all he wanted was to go and see them, and he technically could. But he'd never dare disobey his father.
Will lives about a 20 minute drive from his old house where his mum and brother live, but he could never go as Lonnie had forbid him to ever try and contact them.
He was day dreaming, and he felt a piece of paper hit his head which brought him back to reality.
He looked down at the tiny piece of crumpled paper, and decided to open it.
It read:
'Kill yourself, fucking faggot. Nobody will ever love you.'
Will felt himself tear up, and he looked up to see who wrote it.
Just as he thought, he saw Troy and James laughing to themselves, pointing at him.
Mike noticed Will's trembling lip, and snatched the note out of his hand.
He read the note and was absolutely appauled.
"Will don't listen to them, they're assholes." Mike tried to touch Will's shoulder, but Will shrugged him off.
"D-Dont touch me." Will's voice shook as he tried not to cry.
"Will I'm trying to help." Mike tried to touch Will's shoulder again, but Will shrugged his hand off.
"You don't even like me, why would you want to help." Will felt himself breaking down, but tried his hardest to stop it.
"Will, of course I like you.." Mike felt his heart breaking as he saw the state Will was in.
"No you don't. I don't need you to lie to me, I understand you don't want to be friends anymore." Will's lips trembled, and he felt a tear roll down his cheek.
He quickly wiped it away and turned his head away from Mike, trying to focus on what the teacher was saying.
He hated crying in front of people, especially Mike, so he was incredibly embarrassed.
Mike sighed, as he knew why Will was hiding his face. He had been friends with Will long enough to be able to tell he didn't like crying in front of Mike.
"Right everybody, you can go home now! Homework will be due in tomorrow, don't forget it!" The teacher announced, and everybody got up.
Will grabbed the note from in front of Mike, before stuffing it into his pocket and slinging his bag over his shoulder.
"Will wait-" Mike tried, but Will slipped past him and went out to see Max.
He wandered over to the bike rack, where Max was stood chatting to Lucas and Dustin, and felt the tears begin to fall.
Max looked over at him and her eyes widended.
"Will what happened?" She frowned, pulling him into a hug.
Will didn't say anything, and pulled the note out of his pocket.
Max pulled a confused face, but took the note anyway. She read it and her face went from sympathetic to angry.
"Who the fuck wrote this?" She demanded, and Lucas and Dustin immediately became concerned.
"What? What does it say?" Dustin tried to get a look, and Max handed it to the both of them.
"Troy wrote it." Will looked down, ashamed.
"I'll kill the son of a bitch! I swear I-" Max began, but Lucas cut her off.
"Slow down there cowboy, we can't really do much." He sighed, and Max rolled her eyes.
"We can give him a kick in the balls! That might help him think straight!" She fired, getting rilled up.
"Max stop, I-I don't need you to do anything." Will reassured her, and she sighed.
"Will you need to stop being nice! Be mean!" She groaned, which made everybody laugh.
"I'm fine, now let's go and have fun!" Will grinned, wiping away his tears.
"Hell yeah! See you both tomorrow!" Max waved to Lucas and Dustin, who grinned at the pair before cycling off.
"Guess it's just you and me now, Byers."
