"Alright sweety, have you got everything you need?" Joyce smiled softly down at Mike as she picked him up.

"Yeah, I think so." Mike smiled nervously as he sat down in the passenger seat next to Joyce.

"Alright, let's go then." She grinned, starting up the car and beginning to drive off.

The radio was playing quietly as the two sat in the car, both of them slightly nervous to see Will again.

"You excited to see Will?" Joyce asked Mike, a small smile on her face as she saw Mike's cheeks become a soft pink.

"Yeah." He smiled shyly, looking down at his hands as he fiddled with the seatbelt.

"I'm sure he'll be excited to see you too, I need to go and tell Jonathan that Will is allowed visitors so it'll be just you and him for about half an hour is that okay?" She spoke softly, quickly scanning Mike's face incase he seemed nervous.

"No, yeah, that's fine. We will be okay." Mike nodded, looking over at Joyce and giving her a reassuring smile.

"Okay, good. I'll just come in and say a quick hello before I go." She nodded, a soft smile on her lips.

Soon enough they both got to the hospital, quickly making their way to Will's room. Joyce pushed open the door, looking down and expecting too see her little boy lay there, but instead she saw something else. Mike noticed her freeze, worrying him slightly.

"Is- Is everything okay?" He spoke nervously, trying to peer through the door way.

"He's gone." Joyce spoke quietly, not moving her eyes from her son's empty hospital bed.

"What do you mean he's gone?" Mike frowned, looking up at her.

"He's not there. He's gone." Joyce whispered, beginning to panic.

Mike gently pushed passed her, quickly glancing down at his boyfriend's empty hospital bed. He stared in horror as he saw that all of his things were gone, his clothes, his treatment, everything.

"Where the hell is he?" Mike frowned, also beginning to panic.

"Mike, stay here for a moment, okay?" Joyce spoke softly before leaving the room and hurrying over to the lady at the front desk.

"Do- Do you know where Will Byers is? I have just gone to visit him and he- he isn't there." Joyce asked the woman, trying to mask her panic.

"About half an hour ago his father said he was transferring him to a hospital closer to his house." The lady told her, not even looking up at Joyce as she continued to paint her nails.

"Well what hospital is he in?" Joyce asked her, becoming increasingly worried.

"I'm not allowed to tell you that." The woman told her in an unimpressed voice.

"Seriously?" Joyce scowled as she began walking away, quickly going and grabbing Mike before walking back to her car.

"I need you to stay home, okay? I don't want you getting mixed up in any of this." Joyce told Mike as they both got back in the car.

"I don't- I want to see him, please?" Mike frowned, not wanting to leave Will.

"Mike. I know you do, I promise as soon as I get him safe you can come and see him, but for now I need to know that you are going to stay home." Joyce spoke softly, smiling gently at Mike.

". . .Okay, fine." Mike nodded, sighing softly.

"Thank you." Joyce smiled, starting up the car.

The two drove back to Mike's house in silence, the atmosphere tense as the radio hummed quietly. Soon enough Joyce pulled up to Mike's house, Mike thanking her quickly before heading inside of his house. He knocked on and within a few minutes the door opened and his father was stood there looking very confused.

"Hey. . . I thought you were out seeing Will today?" He frowned, letting Mike inside of the house.

"Yeah, I was. Just- Change of plans." Mike murmured, setting his small bag down by the front door and quickly heading up to his room. He grabbed his walkie talkie from his desk and began speaking, hoping for someone to pick up.

"Hey, it's Mike. Does anyone copy? Over." He asked into the small device. After a few moments of silence another voice came.

"Yeah, I copy. What's up? Over." Lucas's voice came from the walkie.

"I need everyone to meet at my house. Like, now. Over." Mike told him.

"What? Why? Over." Dustin spoke, causing Mike to sigh.

"Listen, all of you just need to come round, okay? Over and out." Mike groaned, shoving the antenna down and setting the small device on his bedside table.

Mike waited for what felt like hours before he heard a knock on the door, and he raced down stairs to see who was there. He opened the door to see Lucas, Max and El all stood there looking slightly concerned.

"Hey. . . Is everything okay?" Lucas frowned.

"Not really, just come inside. I'll tell you what's going on when Dustin gets here." Mike sighed, moving out of the way to let the three in.

They all headed over to the living room and sat down in there, watching the TV until Dustin showed up. Finally, they heard the door ring so Mike got up to get it. He opened the door and saw Dustin there, so he smiled weakly and let him inside the house.

"Okay. What the hell is going on?" Dustin asked Mike.

"Uh. . . It's about Will." Mike sighed, before beginning to explain the situation at the hospital.
