3rd Person
Is he okay?
Will looked down for a minute, just thinking about Max's question.
"Will.. Are you okay?" Mike repeated Max's question, also wanting to know whether his boyfriend is okay.
Will shook his head slightly, and he felt himself tear up.
"No, I-I'm not okay." He whispered.
Max sighed and pulled him into a hug, and Will began to breakdown.
"M-Max.. Everything h-hurts." He spoke, his voice shaking.
"I know it does, I know." She whispered, gently rubbing his back.
"It'll be okay." She spoke gently, trying to calm Will down.
Will continued to cry, leaving the party feeling horribly guilty.
"I-I'm sorry." Will whispered as he pulled away from their hug, looking down at the patches of tear marks.
"Will. What have I said about apologizing so much!" Max warned, wiggling her finger about.
Will giggled at this, wiping away his tears from his face.
"W-Where is L-Lonnie?" Will asked them all.
"Uh, I don't actually know.?" Max muttered.
"He's- he's n-not here, i-is he?" Will began to panic, not wanting to see his dad.
"I don't think so." She told Will, who wasn't sure whether to believe her.
"M-Max what- what if he f-finds me a-again. I-I can't let him f-find me!" Will began to really panic, and Max wasn't sure how to respond.
"I-.." She muttered, not used to seeing Will in such a panic.
"Will, he's not here, I promise. You're okay." Mike took over, giving Will's hand a gentle squeeze.
Will looked over at Mike, his face terrified.
"P-Promise?" He whispered.
"Yes, I promise." Mike nodded, giving Will a soft smile.
The door opened and Joyce, Hopper and Jonathan stood there.
"What's going on?" Hopper looked around the room.
Lucas, Dustin and El were all sat down on a few chairs they had pulled to the bottom of the bed, Max was sat on the bottom of the bed looking slightly frightened, and Will looked terrified.
"W-Where's Lonnie?" Will looked up at Hopper.
"He's still at you're house.. Why?" He spoke sounding unsure.
"He's n-not here, is h-he?" Will made sure.
"No, no of course not." Hopper shook his head.
Will seemed to relax slightly at this, but he still looked scared.
"Uh, could you all just give us a moment with Will?" Hopper looked around the room.
Everybody nodded and hurried out, and as Mike got up to leave Will tried to pull him back.
"D-Don't go, p-please?" He whispered.
Mike looked over at the three stood waiting to talk to Will, not knowing what to say.
"Will, what's wrong?" Joyce looked at him.
"Can M-Mike stay? Please?" He begged, not wanting for Mike to leave.
Joyce was slightly confused, but nodded anyway, so Mike sat back down.
Joyce, Jonathan and Hopper all sat down on the chairs surrounding his bed and it was silent for a bit.
"Why don't you want to see me?" Joyce whispered.
"I d-do. I m-miss you." Will whispered, bursting into tears for what felt lile the fifth time that day.
"Oh sweetheart.." Joyce sighed, and she sat down on the bottom of the bed and pulled her son into a hug.
"It's okay, baby." She whispered, moving Will's hair out of his face.
Will's hand was still connected with Mike's, as he refused to let go, and Joyce noticed this and smiled softly.
"I just want to ask you something.. Why did you say you didn't want to see me?" She spoke softly, looking down at Will.
Will looked up at her, and he opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. He just let out another loud sob.
"Oh sweetheart.." Joyce frowned, looking down at her son.
"Can- can Mike t-tell you.." Will whispered.
Joyce frowned and looked over at Mike who had his eyes glued to the floor, seemingly spaced out.
"Does he know everything that happened?" She asked Will.
"I-I told him e-everything." Will nodded, calming down slightly.
Joyce nodded and turned to Mike who was still looking down at the floor.
"Can you tell me what happened?" She raised her eyebrows, and Mike looked up at her for a second, before frowning slightly.
"Tell you what?" He muttered, looking at Joyce.
"..Are you alright?" Joyce frowned, scanning Mike's face.
"Yeah, why?" Mike gave her a weak smile.
"..Doesn't matter." She gave his face on last scan, making sure he was okay, before continuing.
"Can you tell me what happened with Will and his father the day I was at their house?" Joyce asked him, and Mike nodded softly.
"Yeah, uh.. Well we heard you asking Will if he wanted to see you." Mike began, trying to recall the events of that night.
"He said he didn't know.. And Lonnie took him somewhere, and it went silent for a minute. Will told me that he, uh, threatened Will." Mike told her, and her eyes widended.
"How did he threaten Will? What did he say?" She urged.
"He said he would beat Will to a bloody pulp if he said he wanted to see you." Mike told her flatly, and Joyce's eyes widended.
"Wh-.." She started, but she couldn't finish her sentence and just let Mike carry on.
"They came back to where the walkie was and we heard Will start crying and saying he didn't want to see you.. And we heard arguing and then a loud slam which I assumed was you leaving." Mike looked up at Joyce, who nodded at Mike's assumption.
"After you left, Lonnie got really mad at Will and he, uhm.. Began hitting him." Mike told her.
Joyce's eyes only widended further, looking down at her son who was still crying in her arms.
"Then Lonnie left, and I went and picked Will up from his house and brought him back to my house. But Lonnie realised he was gone and found him, then uh.." Mike trailed off, and Joyce knew what he was getting at.
"Jesus Christ." Joyce whispered, her vision blurring.
"Sorry, I should've told you sooner." Mike muttered, not realizing his thumb was gently rubbing the back of Will's hand.
"It's okay." She smiled softly, knowing exactly what was going on between Mike and Will.
"Hopper, will you come with me for a minute. Jonathan, would you like to come as well?" She asked him, signalling for him to come with her discreetly.
Jonathan got the hint and nodded, the three of them leaving the two boys to have some peace.
