Well yesterday took a wild turn!
My day started of completely normal. I got up, went to buy tickets to see that new Jurassic Park movie later in the day, stopped at the dollar store, and waited for my old friend Merissa to come over. She was supposed to be sleeping over that night.
By the time she arrived, we had to rush to the Theater because we were already running late. We watched the movie, which let me say, was great. During the movie, my parents ordered some fries and chicken wings for Merissa and I to share but she didn't want any. It was basically my lunch since I didn't eat since breakfast and it was already 3 something by then. I felt bad eating it all though, even if it wasn't that much. Lately, everything I eat makes me feel terrible. It's like I'm getting nervous to eat anything especially since I've notice my face getting fatter. I don't even feel pretty enough to take selfies lately. I don't even feel the same just cause my cheeks got a little fatter. That's probably really unhealthy for me to think that way but my mom has drilled the thought of "watching my weight" since as long as I could know.
Well... I'm getting off topic.
Anyway, when we got home, Merissa and I stood in my room and caught up with each other. My parents and siblings all got ready to go to the pool, but we decided to hang back. After a while of talking, I decided to show Merissa some videos on snapchat of this great surgeon named "Dr. Miami."
We watched it for a couple of minutes when all of a sudden she gets up and says "ew I don't wanna watch anymore." I try and talk her into watching some more but then she walks off making grossed out noises. She then tells me "I think I'm going to pass out." She said it in what seemed to be a playful tone until suddenly, SHE PASSES OUT! Literally falls to the ground. Right in front of my face. Her body fell to the ground as if she has been shot. Her head banged against my semi-open door and on the edge of the refrigerator. I can only imagine how much that would've hurt if she was conscious.I honestly don't know what was the first thing that came to mind, it was completely blank but I reacted quickly. I ran to her side, her lifeless looking body laid there, her eyes were still open and completely blank. It was like she was in some kind of shock. I grabbed her head and lifted it, then called out her name. She snapped out of whatever daze she seemed to be in and asked me what happened. I rubbed her head and tuned her into the news that she literally fainted on my kitchen floor. I rubbed her head while she mumbled "I just need to lie down" After turning everything I left on in the living room, I joined her on the floor in my room. She had no recollection of what had occurred in those past 5 minutes. I sat with her as she mindlessly began ask me the same questions over and over. Questions like "Were you scared?" "Wait, so I passed out cause we were watching surgery videos?" "What happened?" and so on.
Every couple of minutes she repeated the questions as if I didn't just answer them. At first, she was scared because she began to forgot everything. She didn't even remember what day it was or how she got to my house. She started forgetting everything. I had to keep explaining the whole situation, I was calm. I even began to laugh to myself a little because she reminded me of "10 second Tom" from 50 First Dates. I was worried though. I was worried she was going to have a concussion, especially since she didn't remember anything.
I informed my mom of the whole situation and she then called Merissa's mom who began to completely freak out. Ana, her mom, said that she was going to take her to the hospital which really put a damper on Merissa and I's night.
Hours passed and Ana never arrived. I think my mom calmed her down over the phone and that's why she decided to hold off on the hospital. Still, the whole situation kind of put a grey cloud over our night. I mean, what do you talk about after something like that?
It was awkward, even when we tried to make light of the situation. I must say, it was a scary experience for me. Merissa said that the whole experience was cool because she got to experience something new, I think she's crazy. It turns out that she had low blood pressure which is what caused her to faint. Shit, I'm surprised my ass didn't faint. As bad as my anxiety is in certain situations, I'm honestly shocked I wasn't hyperventilating. I handled it well.
I'm proud of me.
