Mirajane ruffled her hair, checked her reflection, then ruffled it again.

Today was her first day at Fairy Tail High. Though it had an odd name, it was the most prestigious school in Fiore.

Mira only started attending this year because she had recently moved to a new house on the other side of town. Fairy Tail High was now conveniently located not far from her new house.

Along with location, there was another reason why her parents were now sending her there.

Fairy Tail High had kept gaining students to the point where they all couldn't fit in one school. The students were split so half the school went to learn in one building while the other half attended another Fairy Tail High just a block away. Though they were all one school, the high schools were known as Fairy Tail East and Fairy Tail West.

But last summer the high school issued a plan for a whole new school. The new campus was now complete and the West and East sides were now going to be mashed together. The new building had the latest technological software and design.

Mirajane's parents immediately decided she, her brother, and her sister were to be sent to the incredibly modern school.

"They'll have teachers with only the best degrees." Mira's father had said.

"And think of all the people you will meet." Her mother added.

And so now Mira made her uniform look the best it could be then walked out the door to walk to the school with her brother and sister.

While walking on the sidewalk Chevy truck slowed next to them. Lisanna, Mira's sister, waved to the girl in the shotgun seat.

The window rolled down. Mira recognized the girl as one of Lisanna's lacrosse teammates.

"Hey want a ride?" The girl asked.

Lisanna looked to Mira as to ask for permission.

Mirajane laughed.

"Go ahead."

Lisanna smiled, waved, then jumped in the car.

The Chevy drove off.

"Lame, she can't even walk to school like a real man." Mira's brother remarked.

Mira smiled.

"Oh come on, Elfman, Or we will be late."

Mira honestly didn't care if her sister got to be spared from a miserable walk in extreme heat, and she didn't. She was happy her little sister had some friends to hang out with in this new school. Mira hoped she could be as fortunate.

Erza Scarlet tapped her foot, and the click echoed loudly. She was in the waiting room outside the headmaster's office. As a new student to the school she had to sit there and wait. Now why she had to sit there and wait, Erza didn't know.

She stared out the window to the hallway where the students were milling around, chatting and laughing  with their friends. But Erza couldn't be out there having fun because she was stuck in this stupid room that was making her crazy. Another problem was that Erza currently didn't have any any friends. In fact she's never actually had a real friend to have sleepovers with or whatever. Erza became aware that she didn't really know what typical teenagers did with friends.

Erza always seemed to scare off anyone who would try to become close.

But honestly, to Erza, if you can't handle a kick to the face whenever your being annoying, then how are you handling life?

Suddenly the door to the waiting room opened and a incredibly gorgeous girl with white hair walked in. Her blue eyes twinkled and it was like you could almost see the word "Model" being spelled behind her in fireworks. The thing was she actually looked really good in the school uniform.

Erza looked down at herself in the uniform and snorted.
That girl has a gift.

After the girl a slightly older looking boy with resembling features came in. Erza decided they were siblings. Though, while the girl was slender and petite, the boy was huge in sense of muscle. He looked like he could take on a truck going 65 miles per hour.

The two walked up to the Secretary and talked for a moment.

Bored, Erza glanced down at the clean white tile floor. It was an odd pleasure to see a completely clean floor -wait hold it- she saw it. There was one single scuff mark. It was near the door. It was black, as if the bottom of a shoe slide over the floor too fast. Erza's OCD instinct kicked in as she stared at the one flaw on the tile. She desperately wanted to scrub it or clean it somehow, but in achieving that she would look like an idiot. Like really. Who in there right mind sprawls out on a school floor and obsesses over a scuff mark.

Well apparently her.

Erza stared hard at the stupid scuff mark, and her eye began to twitch.

"Excuse me?"

Erza completely forgot the scuff mark and looked up to the white haired girl from earlier.

"May I sit next to you?" She gestured to the seat next to Erza.

"Yes, of course." Erza replied.

"I'm Mirajane," then she pointed to her brother, "that's Elfman, we're new here."

Erza nodded.

"I'm Erza, I'm new too."

Mira's face lit up.

"Really? You too? That's great! You think I could hang out with you, you know, since we are both in the same situation here."

Erza nodded and smiled gratefully.

"Cool, hopefully the Headmaster will come out and see us soon. He's the one who gives us our schedules. We should compare our classes. I hope..." Mira rambled on.

Erza gave one last glare to the dirty scuff mark before turning to talk to her new found friend.
