Keefe laid in bed, staring up at the dark ceiling. It was quiet moments like these when he realized that he had no idea what was going on with his life.
(Literally me. Also, why am I putting in so many of these deep contemplation scenes? It's even annoying me at this point)
It was quiet moments like these that made him wonder whether he was trying hard enough to actually make a difference.
He wasn't like this before. He wasn't like this when all life was were pranks and getting yelled at.
But somehow, Sophie had managed to impact the entire world within the first year of being in the Lost Cities, and it made Keefe feel behind.
What could he do to...
A sudden ring forced him out of his thoughts. He leaned over and lazily grabbed his imparter without getting up, since he immediately knew it was Fitz.
Who else would be crazy enough to call at this time?
"Yes, Fitzy?"
"Sophie's tribunal is tomorrow at 10 in the morning. Don't be late."
"I feel like this is something I would be really intrigued about but I'm too sleepy to hear anything. Send a message. Bye."
He clicked the imparter off and threw it across the room, pulling his covers over his head at the same time.
***************
(Hehe I honestly don't know what I was doing here. You can skip if you want.)
When Keefe got up at 9:15, the first thing he did was look for his imparter. He didn't remember where he put it.
By 9:30, he remembered that he had thrown it across the room. It was under his curtains. Not only that, but his room was successfully even more messy from his looking around.
At 9:45, he was wondering how crazy Sophie was, deciding to have her tribunal the day after she woke up. He was also running around the house, trying to get ready to leave and eat breakfast at the same time.
At 9:50, he left because it started in 10 minutes, and he had almost forgotten he needed to be there early to get a good seat.
At 9:51, he found his parents waiting for him at the Leapmaster. He asked why they were coming.
At 9:52, Lady Gisela told him that they needed to know what was happening around the Lost Cities, and this was the biggest news since well, ever.
At 9:53, Lord Cassius also mentioned they had booked the best seats for all three of them.
At 9:54, he told them he wanted to sit with his friends. Lady Gisela told him that family is more important.
At 9:55, he told them to go first and he'll come after, so he isn't seen with them. Both of them looked too tired to argue, and he was pretty sure the feeling was mutual.
At 9:56, his parents left and he had to wait a minute before he left too.
At 9:57, he left too. No one paid him any attention as he walked in.
At 9:58, he spotted Sophie, and then his parents in the first row of seats. Scanning the first row, he also found Della, Fitz, Biana, and Dex. There was an empty seat after Dex, so he started making his way there, making sure to give his parents a smug look as he slid into the first row without them.
At 9:59, Dex looked at him and rolled his eyes. He was probably wondering how Keefe knew the seat was his.
At 10:00, Keefe got shushed and the Tribunal started.
