5. Heat

As she finished speaking, she trembled slightly but stood tall. 

Rubbing up and down Sonya's arms, Leo nuzzles his face into the side of her neck. Taking in a deep breath of her scent he kisses the side of her flaming red ear. He smiled as he felt the warmth on his lips. Angelica looked at her new friend with a bright smile across her face and a sparkle in her eyes as she walked to Sonya. 

Grabbing Sonya's hands in hers, she squeezed them gently as she peered into Sonya's eyes. 

"I love the way you view the world; I hope you stay strong in your beliefs. I look forward to seeing how you and your children will change this world." She says with conviction.

Sonya stared back at her friend as tears brimmed her eyes. She was lucky to find such a friend after coming to this strange world. 

"I am so glad I have found such a great friend in you. Finding myself in this scary world was already very hard. So, I'm very happy to have found a wonderful friend like yourself. I will be sure to share what I know with you, though it will take a while since I'm still not familiar with this world. I first need to see what resources have been found so I have a starting point." 

A strong shiver ran through Sonya causing her to gasp. At the same time, Leo grabbed both Sonya and Angelina in his strong arms.

 "Shaman, catch!"

 Leo growl yells as tosses Angelica to him. Turning to Sonya he quickly kisses her lips as he sighs against her lips.

 "Please do not fear me for this."

 He all but begs her.

 "I need you to stay with Angelica and her mates. They will keep you safe. There is a large group of hostile beastmen approaching fast." Leo leans forward kissing Sonya on her forehead, before looking at the five beastmen in front of him.

 Leo notices Shaman is still holding Angelica protectively, he wishes he could just hold Sonya, but he knows it is up to him to keep her safe. Leo looked to the strongest of the bunch. the big bear Beast-men. noticed Leo's eyes on him, stepping forward he nods at the best god in confirmation. Leo grits his teeth before snuggling Sonya one more time and tossing her to the bear Beastmans arms with a stern glare. 

That one look had a whole meaning spoken between the two. Glancing at Sonya one last time he turns his back to her.
Sonya watched as Leo stood tall, her face went slack and her mouth hung open a little as she watched with wide eyes. He hunched over as he fell forward, his body stretching and reforming. Gleaming white fur started to sprout all over him all that was left was a very large white lion. He had finished transitioning to his animal forms when a large group of different animals came into sight at the tree line across from the wooden house off to the side.

 Fully visible to the back of the wooden house where they were gathered as though they knew where to go. They all stopped in their tracks not paying any attention to the lion in front of them. Every one of them has zeroed in on Sonya, who was still in the bear beastmans arms. Leo turned following their gaze, and realized it was on Sonya. Seeing her stare at all the Beast-men in fear she shakes like a leaf in the wind.

Leo turns back to the crowd when what seems to be the leader walks out towards Leo as though they just noticed his presence. The large leopard strutted forward as he smoothly transitioned into a handsome man with honey-blonde hair and a well-defined body. Leo growls as the man approaches. Letting him know not to get any closer. 

"Hello, I'm Jack, I'm the leader of this group of feral beastmen. Back in our town five years ago, our shaman gave us a prophecy." Jake turns his head to Sonya, an evil smile sliding across his lips, before straightening his face back out as he slides his eyes back onto the lion in front of him.
