43. Guarded heart

As I look around me, I see the females and their mates on the other side of the fire. While all the nonmated males spread out around them, some in animal form while others in beastmen form.

Thinking about their geographic area she is currently at and is heading to. 'Remembering what it looked like from the sky by the ocean doesn't do justice to its actual size, the territory as dad called it is almost the same size as a country! The snowy mountains held the frost wolves, while the foxes stayed in the forested area with smaller mountains. If I remember correctly it should be the pride lands after we get out of the foxes territory. I know I need to hurry, my period should start again in two weeks.'
As she stands there thinking to herself, she is unaware that she has begun to frown. Chewing on her bottom lip, she dazes off while lost in her thoughts.

"What's worrying you, diamond?" Gem asked as he wrapped his tail around her in a soothing gesture.

Snapping out of her thoughts she gives Gem an appreciative smile.

"I think since everyone looks comfortable we should just sleep here where we are. I can send mom, dad and brothers to either my place or the island. At first light I think we should hurry on finishing the walls, we'll eat while we go." She finally said as she looks to her parents for their thoughts.

"I would rather send mom home, there I know she will be the most comfortable. Frankly my place isn't fully ready to live in, with mom being pregnant I think it would be better that way." I said as I twisted my fingers together.

"I want to be a part of your starting journey, I'm not far enough along that I can't handle a little travel." Sonya huffed.

"Can you open two doors?" Leo asked, finally deciding to speak up.

"Yes." She said.

"Send your brothers to your place, that way they can start finishing up over there after waking so you can focus. Your mother and I will go back to the island."

As soon as he finished talking Sonya got a sad look on her face.

Diamond wrapped her arms around her parents, giving them a tight squeeze before backing up. Looking over her mom from head to toe, she clapped her hands as her face got bright.

"Mom, can I see your necklace?" She asked with excitement dripping from her star filled eyes.

Sonya giggled at her expression before taking the gold diamond necklace off her neck that she has had since coming here.

Moving over to the side she opened a door shape in space. You could see her new living room in the cave, the fire pit and sectional shaped nest.

Moving across from it she opened another door, this one opened to view the room built around the tree of life.

"Okay, brothers can get through now. As for you dad, mom. I have one more step. Since it would be harder to get back as fast as brothers can just fly over. I'm going to make a more permanent door at the tree of life. This one is a little special though. Taking into consideration the pact dad has, only those blood related or mated to one of us can pass through the door. However, if evil or back intentions mentally to harm. The tree of life on the other side can deny them across, they will then be transported somewhere randomly through the world. Even I am not sure where they would end up." She says as she proudly looks at her parents.

Her mother chuckled while her dad rubbed her head.

"So then what do you need mom's necklace for?" Alpha asked her.

"Oh right! I need something sharp." She said as she starts looking at all the different small rocks around her.

As she starts to feel frustrated looking around, she sighs heavily before noticing that her mom has her bearings on today.
