17. Tree grannies voice

Leo was flabbergasted as he rushed up the mountain.
He had yet to see a single crazed animal, not since cutting down all the larger ones. Dred filled his heart as it sank to his stomach. 

"NO!" 

Leo roared as he took off with greater speed. Whoosh...
Leo was stunned by the glowing emerald light that covered the peek of the mountain, even in daylight it could be noticed.

As he flew overhead, he saw trees that acted as though they were alive trapping all the enraged animals in a circle formed in a circle with multiple layers. Sonya sat In front of the largest tree, a small circle formed around her of little trees.
Leo had just begun to feel a little calmer seeing her okay....

'my female is going to frighten me to death' Leo thought to himself. Feeling extremely aggrieved, he watched Sonya walk through the small trees, stopping to stand in front of a large tiger.
Raising a hand up, vines shot from the ground. Wrapping tightly around the tiger she immobilized the tiger. Sonya's entire body glowed like a flawless emerald held to the sun, reflecting brightly around her. 

"Easy now, I do not wish to harm you." The tiger fought against the vines as Sonya slowly made her way to stand a breath away from him. Laying one of her hands on the side of the tiger's face, his body went stiff before releasing a soft whimper and going limp. Sonya gave him a sad smile, she wrapped her arms around the tiger's neck. 

Leo's jaw went slack at the scene before him. A strong green energy wave pulsed from Sonya, slowly encompassing those around her, stopping on the other side of the trees outside of the circle. 

One by one the animals lost the will to fight, slowly laying on the ground. Small wisps of black smoke rose from their foreheads, dissipating into the air.
Leo smiled down at his lovely mate, swooping down he landed smoothly on the ground outside of the tree line. 

"ROAR"

Leo let out a mighty roar, announcing his presence. The trees slowly moved open, the animals came forward to kneel at Leo's feet. They filed out calmly, sitting in the grass on each side of Leo's massive winged lion form. 

"Leo!" 

The animals split down the middle, as the large tiger slowly walked to Leo. Sonya sat sideways on the top of its back, her small hands gripping the tiger's soft fur on each side of her legs. As the tiger came up to Leo he slowly turned his body to the side as he lay on the ground. 

"Grrrr! ROAR!" 

The air shook with Leo's anger. 

"Leo, don't be angry. He brought me to you after I heard your call. Can you change forms?"
After Leo took a good look at her, he noticed he slightly trembling body and her pale face. Smoothly changing forms, Leo strides forward naked to Sonya. Lifting his head to look at her face he calmly lifts his arms to her. 

Leo didn't give Sonya any chance to speak before lifting her off the tiger's back and cradling Sonya's body to his chest. They shared a passionate kiss before Sonya broke free gasping for air. Laying her head against his chest, she drew small circles on him. Patting Leo's arm lightly, Sonya looks up into his eyes. 

"Take me back to the tree." 

Leo looked at her dotingly, nodding his head he carried her off to the tree she was kneeling In front of. Setting Sonya's feet on the ground, Leo supported her as she slowly sat on the ground. Resting her hands on the tree's bark at the trunk she lays her forehead against the tree. 

"Would you like to come with us?"
A small leafed branch gently strokes Sonya's hair.

'Thank you Mother Nature, I have been resting here guarding for thousands of years. My roots are now too deep to move if I was younger. But at least this is where I shall stand.'  

Sonya let out a small gasp at the nice granny's voice that filled her mind. Her eyes opened wide, she stared up at the tree. As fresh tears filled her eyes, the massive tree pushed a small sapling towards Sonya. 

"Take my sapling, I have nourished it for a few hundred years. Once you plant it and treat iitwith love, it shall grow as strong and mighty as me." 

Sonya looked at the tree sapling. ' my gosh it's huge!' Sonya thought to herself as she stood with Leo's help. The sapling was taller than her!
Leo chuckled and pinched her nose, staring at her dotingly. 

"Silly female, it's supposed to be taller than you."
Sonya puckered her plump lips at Leo's comment. 

Turning back to the massive granny tree Sonya spoke hesitantly.
"Would it be okay if I came to see you again?" 

'of course, you and your cubs are welcome any time!'
Can a quick response? Sonya gave the tree a warm smile, giving the tree bark the biggest hug she could. 

"Take me back to the animals." Sonya held her arms open for Leo, allowing him to carry her. Standing once again among the animals that stayed, Leo refused to let Sonya down, instead setting her on one of his shoulders. His hand rested on her tummy as she talked to the animals in front of her. 

"Someone used evil ways to taint your pure bodies, luckily it hadn't been very long. I was able to purify your bodies... this time. If it had been just a few short hours later, your souls would have started to become corrupt once completed. You would be left a demon. At that point, I would be unable to save you. I have left a barrier around each of your minds and hearts. I'm not sure how long the effects will work. In the meantime, it will help prevent you from going berserk again."
Sonya looked around at the different large cats, making sure she had their undivided attention.
Looking at Leo, he gave Sonya a short nod. Smiling 'he sure knows me well' Sonya thought to herself chuckling. 

"My mate, the beast god. Created a town for my family to live in." she pointed in the direction of the sea. 

"I, have no family. So we have invited others who we have grown fond of to live there and create one large family. If any of you would like to come, you are welcome to bring your families."
As Sonya finished Leo spoke up. 

"On the other side of this mountain, halfway down is a barrier. For those of you who would like to come, step forward one at a time. I will leave an imprint of my power on you, otherwise you will be unable to enter. These imprints will only last for 3 days, so be quick for those that want to bring families." 

They took no time at all to make a single file line in front of Leo, the first being the mighty tiger, that carried Sonya to Leo. 

"Do you have any family?"
Leo asked the tiger. 

The tiger lowered its head, shaking it back and forth. 'The evil took them all away' came his tiger's soul's sad response. Laying his palm over the tiger's head, Leo says in a deep voice.
"I beast god Leo, name you Teddie the second guardian!" 

The animals made noise in rejoicing as Teddie bowed down to Leo.
One by one the animals came by then left in a hurry. Before long only Leo, Teddie, Sonya, and the tree sapling were left. Leo cradled the exhausted Sonya in his arms, laying a quick kiss on her lips. 

"Teddie, you carry the sapling."
Turning back to his yawning mate, Leo erected a strong windshield in front of them, he took off running.  After 30 minutes of running, they finally crossed the last barrier into what would become their new home.
