27. Alpha

"Let's name her diamond!" 

Sonya said joyfully. 

Laying her hand gently on his chest, snuggling up to him as he holds her. 

"Diamond is a kind of jewel, like emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and others. However, all the others have only one color to represent their name, while a diamond reflects all colors and shines the brightest." Sonya said as she turned to gaze back at her bundle of joy.

Sonya's explanation of the jewels from her world had Leo in deep thought. 

"Unlike the jewels here, in our old world, they didn't possess any powers, they were just beautiful. Diamonds are said to be the toughest yet most beautiful of them all." 

Leaning her head against him, her hand gently rubs the beast mark that her daughter blessed her with. A beautiful emerald tree with roots in the shape of a heart. A gold lion lays within the middle of the rooted heart. 

Seeing her action, Leo smiled. 

"Do you remember the bright emerald jewel you received not long after you arrived in our world? Well, our daughter blessed and fused that emerald with your body." 

"Being my mate blessed you with immortality. You can still die, just as I. However you can live forever and remain a young beautiful female, though I don't have the power of life so I was unable to give you your mark. That just shows how amazing our daughter is. One day her power will likely surpass my own." 

A slight trimmer ran through the floor as a group of roars could be heard. 

"Ooh....yaaaa" Diamond startled awake. 

"Diamond, you're okay sweetie." Sonya cooed as takes her in her arms. 

"That was just your older brothers arriving, excited to see you," Leo spoke gently as he held the mother-daughter pair in his grasp. 

After hearing her parents reassuring voices, Diamond slowly drifted off to sleep. 

Smiling at how cute she was, the three of them made their way to the sibling's first introductions. 

After Sonya arrived on the island and delivered her first litter of cubs, Leo noticed her body's pheromones never stopped releasing like a female would while in heat, making it impossible for her to leave the safety of the island. 

Now she carries the protection of her mate's mark with Leo, finally allowing her to view the world. 

Leo looks down at Sonya, chuckling at her childish joy radiating from her.
As they make their way through the garden surrounding the base of the Tree of Life Diamond stirred awake. 

"Ooglaa" diamond cooed. Chuckling Sonya glances at Leo. 

"What do you think she is saying?"
Sonya asked with a giggle. 

Diamond began to cry, reaching her tiny hand out. 

As the couple stopped in their walk to comfort Diamond they stood at the edge of the garden. Hearing some rustling in the fallen leaves In front of them, Diamond cried and cried while seeming to be trying to make her way over to where the sound came from. 

"Come out son, it's okay. Come meet your baby sister." Leo stated, his eyes dancing with mirth.
As if hesitating, a few moments pass by before a massive white and gold lion stalks into the garden. 

"Alpha, I'm so glad to see you!! Where have you been?! I've been so worried about you!" Sonya cried as she wrapped her free arm around the lion's neck. Wiping her eyes, she brings Diamond for him to see.
