~Time skip 1 hour after the exam~

Meiying, Jia, and Daiyu were both relieved and exhausted.

It was no doubt in Daiyu or Jia's mind that they had passed the exams. They were also pretty sure that at least 65% of their sector had passed these exams. They were just happy that they were over and done with. They now would have a 3-month resting period to prepare for the next exams. But what was really getting to all three of the women was what lied ahead during those three months.

At the end of the exam the emperor made a surprise appearance. Stating that he was going to have another banquet this time with all of the women who have passed. They were to be decked out and dressed to be among nobility. That the old madams were to make sure that they were all pristine and prepared to enter high society as he will allow them to mingle upon nobles. This was something completely unheard of.

Especially dealing with how early on it is in the exams. You have to pass at least the 10th exam before there's even a possibility of you being able to work with the nobles or within the higher up levels of society. So to have women who are only just passing the third/forth test being introduced to the nobility. It was either a disaster waiting to happen or it was a secret auction.

Meiying had grabbed the two girls and taking them to more secluded area as soon as they were able to escape. Explaining to them how this is only ever happened two or three times. Normally it is when nobilities are having issues or problems with finding wives for their sons or girls to adopt as their daughters. Needing a hair or harrist in order to marry her off to a higher nobility or foreigner. It really happened during her father's reign as emperor as he saw it as nothing more than inhumane.

To say that this didn't sit right with Jade would be an understatement. It once again added more issues to her already spider web of a plan that she had going on. The last thing she needed was to garnish the attention of someone foolish or stupid enough to want her to marry their son or wanting to take her in as one of their daughters. She wasn't stupid she knew exactly what this would mean she knew that quite a few of the girls were taking with this idea but that's because they weren't thinking properly. Or maybe it was good for some of them half of them were only there to get married in the first place.

But from a business point of view it's a losing situation. They would once again have their ownership now taken from their biological parents put on to these Noble people. They will see them as nothing more than pawns the girls who would get adopted with think they'd be treated better but they'd probably be treated as nothing more than maids until they were able to find or secure a husband of higher caliber than the family that they're in. Where they would then be married off and become property of their husband who might not even love cherish or care for them much outside of the political move and or money he would be making from it. The girls who be married off on skin there's a reason that their sons are single and having issues with finding a wife. The likelihood is they would end up getting married off to this man and becoming nothing more than a baby maker why he went around having affairs very blatantly in their face while they were able to do absolutely nothing but sit there bear and grin with it. Most likely becoming part of you laughing stock of the kingdom. is there quite a few well-known Noble women who are known for nothing more than having babies by their husbands and being cheated on on a daily basis. That is not how one wishes to live or to be seen.

If they see that we are cunning and smart women they might want to sponsor us but they would never want to take us. Would you come off as being too hot to manipulate or use as pawns in their stupid little games."
