27 ~ Unexpected Changes

When I step out of the bathroom of the room I'd been provided at the show, I'm not at all surprised by the shock on everyone's face except for Jungkook and Yoongi. Thanks to the fact that I will be performing solo as well as with my band, I'm always provided my own dressing room, meaning that we're not crowded into the same room as my four bandmates at the moment.

I can tell the five are all trying to keep from completely gawking at my current appearance, not that they're doing a great job at it, but I don't bother paying them any mind. I'm wearing a blood red off the shoulder long sleeve shirt that's slightly cropped with a pair of distressed and ripped black jeans and black sneakers, topped off with all of the jewelry I've tried to avoid wearing around my brother's band. It's a side to me, a look for me that outside of Yoongi, none of them have witnessed yet, something that I attempt not to dwell on since I know fully well the amount of work I have to be focusing on tonight.

Instead, I walk straight past them and head to the door, only pausing once I'm out of the room, having heard Yoongi quickly follow after me. It has me sighing before I'm turning back around to look at him, question on my face when I meet his gaze. There's a shy aura to him at this point though, and it brings me back to the conversation I'd had with Taeju, growing frustrated at the matter since I know I don't have the time for it tonight.

"I have a feeling I know what all you have going on tonight and why they won't see you in there until the night's over. Can I join you though?" Yoongi mumbles before biting his lip lightly. I take a deep breath through my nose, not entirely liking the idea of having him tag along, but I can see the hope in his eyes, and there's something in me that doesn't want to harm that for him, something that gives me even more distrust to myself about all of this.

"If you want to tag along, you're going to have to be completely silent. I can't and won't have any distractions. I will tell you to get the fuck out if you become a problem. Think you can handle that?" I inform him, watching as a gummy grin breaks out across his face.

"You won't even know I'm there." He answers, excitement already flooding his voice. I merely quirk an eyebrow at this to make a point before turning on my heel to head towards the warmup room where I know the first band I'll need to be assisting with will be. They're scheduled to go on soon, and while I'm not late yet, I will be if I continue to doddle.

"What you saw of me the other night, what you've seen online, it's just a glimpse of who I am, Yoongi. Who you'll see tonight, this is the unfiltered version of me. The others will think they're watching a persona that work has given me, and it'll be in their interest to believe such ideas. Take all of this as you will, but I had certainly better not hear you complain or watch you become afraid of me after choosing by your own hand to bear witness." I breathe out as I walk down the hall towards the warmup room. I catch the way his head turns to the side curiously at my words, but he doesn't say anything and I let the matter be.

We stay silent the rest of the trek to the warmup room, and the moment we enter, he splits off from me to move to the side of the room where there's extra space. I take note of where he sits before taking the center at the front of the room, not wasting any time in beginning to warm Stray Kids up for their performance tonight.

"No, stop. Changbin, you're not even doing you're own move. The rest of you are sloppy as hell. Come on, guys. You're going out on stage in a few minutes, what the hell are you doing?" I snap as I spin on my heel to look at the band that had been behind me. They're all swearing and muttering under their breaths at this, but I just shake my head and start the music over again, not allowing us to move forward until we've got it right.

"Seungmin, I can hardly understand what the hell you're trying to sing! Guys, get your shit together! I will not allow the eight of you to go out on stage just to make a fool out of yourselves. I'll forfeit your goddamn slot tonight if the lot of you can't pull it together." I threaten as I stop dancing in a heartbeat.
