Ace

"Yo Tanisha!" He called to her in the hallway.

"She turned around smiling and gave him a hug. "Hey Ace,"

"You hard to find."

"Didn't know you were looking for me. How's it going with that guy you were parading around a few days ago doing?"

Ace laughed. "Unavailable, that's all me."

"I could tell, never saw you so territorial." She looked him over. "What can I do for you?"

"My boy Kurt feeling you,"

"Hmm, he's nice or whatever. The thing is I'm not looking for anything serious."

"Just let him take you out, he's not asking for your hand in marriage, not yet at least." Ace

"I mean and you're okay with this, after we were sexually involved?"

"Tanisha, as fun as it was, I just saw us as two friends helping each other out, physically. But with Kurt you will be valued and treated exactly how you deserve, if it wasn't obvious my heart is kind of occupied by someone else."

"There I go making myself more important than I actually am," she laughed embarrassingly.

"Tanisha, I didn't say you weren't important, come on don't make me seem like that type."

"You didn't really have to," she took a a deep breath, probably coming to the realization they were just having fun and would only ever be friends. "Give Kurt my number, what the hell, right?"

"Thank you...for this and everything. "he squeezed her hand. "Give him a real chance, you won't regret it."

"Not like you huh?" She gave him a weak smile. "See you round Ace."

He just smiled as she walked away.

Christmas break was coming up, him and Zhi were trying to do a last-minute Christmas Eve sleepover that falls through New Years's, like they previously discussed. They decided on his house, because doing it at Zhi's seemed a bit weird, with his stepdad being there. His little sister Tyla was super excited, he didn't spend much time with her and his mom the last time he visited. He was mainly there for Zhi, who wasn't doing too well with news of Coco. Although, Ace wasn't crazy about her, being that she was his competition, he wouldn't wish her current status on anyone.

Football practice was canceled due to the coach's anniversary. Ace was thankful because his shoulder was sore, and he needed to ice it. Kurt invited him to a kickback later and he agreed but wanted to back out because of his shoulder, but he just caught up on some work, took some Tylenol and rubbed icy-hot Lon it. Kurt had a late class, so he was able to sleep before going to the kickback. That nap was needed and rejuvenated him. He was folding his clothes and came across a shirt that Zhi had left, and now he was thinking about him. The time they spent together was more precious to him than Zhi would ever understand. He was counting the days until he would hold him again. Maybe, after the school year, he'd consider moving back home and attending college with him. Four hours wasn't too long of a drive, but he'd rather be on campus with him.
