THREE MONTHS LATER Steve, Robin, and Libby decide to try to get a job. They saw their was a job opening for the family video store.
Steve put up to the store as Robin reads his résumé.
"You put your mom down as a reference?" she reads As Libby closes the car door she forgot to close.
"Yeah. She's like super well respected." Steve shrugs.
Robin swings around to poll out inside "you're such a dingus."
"Wait up!" Libby says walking a little slowing because of her leg brace.
Turns out Libby seriously broke her ankle in the nice Russian elevator and had to get a leg brace. She's still shocked she has to wear it for so long.
Robin holds the door open for Libby as Steve runs up to the counter.
"Uh, just to be clear, we weren't fired, you know. The mall burned down and, like, killed a bunch of people." Robin clarifies
"Thanks for sharing. Didn't know." Keith puts down the papers."Three favorite movies. Go. " he points at Robin.
"Uh... The Apartment, Hidden Fortreess, Children of Paradise." Robin says without missing a beat.
"You, go." pointing at Libby.
"Shit.. Uh... Stand by me, breakfast Club, little shop of horrors." Libby says nodding liking her answers. (Yes I know some of those didn't come out in 1985.)
"Okay... You, go" now pointing at Steve.
"Favorite movies?" Steve says blacking out.
"Did I stutter?"
"Uh... Animal house, for sure." Libby and Robin scoff." uh.."
keith snaps at Steve. "eyes on me, Harrington."
"Yeah. Uh...Star Wars." Steve shrugs.
"A new hope?" Keith names.
"Uh.. What?" Steve leands in.
""Which Star Wars?"
"The one with the teddy bears. Duh." Steve says before he makes a very interesting impression of a Ewok.
Libby rolls her head into robins shoulder as Robin drops her head in defeat.
"No? Uh... Oh, the one that just came out. The movie that just came out. The one with the DeLorean and Alex P. Keaton, and he's trying to bang his mom." steve chuckles. "The time... Yeah, those are my top three. Classics."
Keith looks at the three "you two start Monday. You start never."
"Will you just, um... Will you give us a minute?" Robin says to Steve.
"Why?" Steve whispers back sadly.
"Steve" Libby whispers.
Steve walks backwards as Robin starts to speak.
"All right, you have to understand, Keith, i know his taste is a bit..." Robin looks over a Libby for help.
"Pedestrian." Libby nods.
Robin smiles" but the Dingus has other qualities."
"He's a douchebag of the highest order, Robin."
"He was a bit of a pick to us in high school, I'll grant you that, but he remains... A total chick magnet." robin lies.
Libby side eyes her knowing that Steve had many fail attempts of getting a date.
"Yeah, okay, and this is relevant to me how?"
"Uh, Earth to Keith." Libby claps in his face.
"The ladies will come in just to see him." robin looks over to Steve. "They'll come in in droves. Droves Keith. We sold so much ice cream, they had to get a second shipment." Robin continues.
"From Michigan." Libby adds.
"Michigan... Michigan?" robin questions.
"Goddamn Michigan." Libby leads on the counter.
"And this ladies... These ladies are hot." Robin explains.
"They're so very hot. " Libby fans herself.
"And there are too many of them for little Steve. He needs assistance. He needs your assistance, Keith."
"What's in it for you? You got a thing for him or something?" Keith asks after eating a Cheeto.
Steve walks right into a 'fast times' cardboard cut out making all of them turn to him.
"Goddammit. This is--libby! Help." Steve cries.
"Jesus..." Libby mubbes limping tords him. "What did you do?"
"I didn't do it someone put a sigh up were I was walking!" Steve complains.
"uh-huh.." Libby says unimpressed looking him up and down.
"We're just um... We're just friends." Robin answers Keith question.
"No, Steve, your doing it wrong." Libby takes the cut out from Steve and fixes it.
"Oh! Fast Times. Fast Times. Ever heard of it? Top three for me, Keith." Steve says pointing at the poster that Libby was placing down.
Robin laughs at Steve and Libby turns around to look at Robin and smile.
She would have to admit her crush to herself some day.
But...
