The sound of heavy traffic was her first indicator that something was wrong, rolling over in her bed Braelyn groaned and reluctantly sat up. The girl's eyes widened when she noticed that this was not her room. As much as she wanted her own apartment this was not how she expected to get it. She quickly looked down at her clothes and let out a breath of relief she was fully dressed. Every part of her wanted to run yet the small voice in the back of her mind told her to explore her surroundings. Slowly getting out of bed she looked around the room, there were many photos of her with people she recognized to be a younger Shelia and Bonnie Bennett but she had never met the two women. As she further explored, she realized that it seemed to be her apartment.
Her head started to pound as many memories filled her mind, it was painful all this knowledge and memories that she suddenly was a part of. The only problem was Braelyn Bennett did not exist. She was ready to reject these memories and thoughts she was ready to voluntarily trap herself in the psych ward when a woman appeared in front of her.
"Braelyn Benjamin you are my chosen champion, I am sorry for pulling you into this world, but I need someone to ensure that my sister's children do not suffer in this life. Your wish only solidified that you were the right person for this job."
The girl looked up at the woman who seemed to be a cosmic being, of all the times she had been heard by a god last night was when they chose to listen. "Who are you and what children." The woman smiled at her yet the smile seemed sad and almost forced "I am Fate" Braelyn's eyes widened "Then Mother Nature is your sister" The woman nodded pleased that her chosen champion was smart "The Mikealson family are the first of their kind and my sister loved them yet they suffered too much and died so please save them"
Braelyn's eyes lit up at her chance to mess with the original plot but then one thing bothered her "This person have I stolen her life?" Fate smiled happily and shook her head "No you haven't you are Braelyn Bennett she never existed until now we just ensured that she had a background in this world unfortunately we did not influence the choices made by those in Mystic Falls."
As the woman faded away Braelyn looked around and decided that eating and sorting herself out was important. As she made her sandwich, she sorted through all her new memories. It seemed that Braelyn was not the favourite, born out of wedlock to an ex-fling that Abby refused to name. She was a constant reminder to her stepfather of the fact he had abandoned her mother for a year, and she had options. Loved only by her grandmother and distant family members she only spent her summer break in Mystic Falls, that was until her sister was born and they needed a babysitter. When Bonnie started showing her magical potential, she was sent away so that the young girl would not be tempted.
While Shelia kept in contact with her everyone else ignored her finally it all came to a head when she was 17 and her little sister informed her that she was just a bastard that nobody wanted. Braelyn just smiled and applied to schools out of state, her sister was very honest that day and everyone knew it. So, Braelyn left Mystic Falls only returning to see her beloved grandmother.
Now however Braelyn was aware that her reason for visiting Mystic Falls was not a happy one, the funeral invitation sat on her table and based on the obvious lack of clothing in her apartment and the large number of suitcases she could only assume that she would be returning to her hometown.
A large portion of her furniture was also missing, looking at the clock she noticed that it was only 7 in the morning. Grabbing the journal on the table she quickly read the last few entries and sighed so she was moving into Shelia Bennett's home and everything else had already been taken now all she needed to do was brave the six-hour drive. Well then Mystic Falls better expect her return because Braelyn Bennett was going to cause chaos she wondered if Bonnie had told the Salvatore brothers who she was.
