Elena was horrified when she saw Braelyn in the Mystic Grill laughing with Matt and Tyler. Her brown eyes filled with hate when the woman gave her a small wave before grabbing her things and leaving. Unfortunately, she could not ask Bonnie why the girl was in town as she had started ignoring her and had left town with her dad. She walked over to Matt and smiled brightly at the blonde "Hey" As she expected his eyes began to soften and he smiled at her "Hey Lena, how are you".
She shrugged and gazed out the window "Worried about Bonnie and how she is handling her grief. I wasn't aware Braelyn was here I thought the Bennetts left". Matt tensed a bit before calming down after all Elena was the girl he loved. He could trust her. "Oh yeah Shelia left the house to Braelyn she is going to be living here now, she is doing the rest of her degree online". Elena nodded mentally cataloguing the information for later, but Matt continued to speak "Apparently one of her cousins is staying I think his name is Elion". Elena nodded and smiled at Matt quickly ordering her meal before glancing around the Grill to see Tyler smiling brightly.
He was talking to someone on the football team, Elena chose to sit in the booth right next to his and listen in "Braelyn Bennett is the hottest girl in town, and I just got her number there is no way I'm not celebrating tonight". Elena frowned and rolled her eyes of course that is what Tyler was interested in. She glanced at her phone and sent Stefan a quick text before leaning her head against the table and counting down from 100. Her head was killing her, and she had to deal with two new problems in town.
Matt found her when she had reached 25 and handed her the large order with concerned eyes painting on the nice girl next door act, she smiled and waved it off before leaving. Hopefully, Damon and Stefan had an idea of what to do with the news of two more supernatural beings in the town.
Braelyn threw herself down into the closest chair opening her eyes briefly to glare at Elion who seemed to be laughing at her pain. "You sure are lazy for our coven leader" Braelyn groaned and glanced at him casually waving her hand and setting her cousin's jacket on fire. "Shit!!! Lyn, I'm sorry" The fire stopped and vanished leaving his jacket unscathed.
Elion watched her for a while before sighing "What happened" She just groaned into the pillow and looked up at him "Tyler Lockwood is an untriggered Werewolf" Elion gagged on his tea before hissing at the burning sensation "That explains his anger" Braelyn nods before tilting her head and sitting up.
"Elena Gilbert is the doppelganger, Stefan and Damon Salvatore are her protectors and Bonnie is the support. I have a bad feeling about this" Elion sighed and glanced at the large photo over the fireplace. The Bennett Coven's colours were purple and red the last photo with the entire coven had happened earlier in the year. Braelyn was named successor and sat on a throne-like chair on the right directly beside Shelia. Their younger cousins sat on the floor in front of them and he sat on a similar chair on Shelia's left while the rest of their family stood behind and around them, dressed in black purple and red.
He loved the photo and only despaired that one of their own had not returned to her coven. Bonnie had no connection with the family magic and hardly lived up to their name. "How bad could it possibly be" He watched as Braelyn opened the secret compartment on the bookshelf and pulled out a black and silver grimoire that had chains wrapped around it. His eyes narrowed and he watched the book with a little fear as Braelyn placed it on the table "Bad".
The two gazed at the grimoire and then at the photo of their family members this was going to be hard to explain when they realised what they had done.
______
Damon Salvatore was not the biggest fan of witches or their male counterparts he found them to be quite prejudiced. So, when Elena walked in and relayed the information Matt had given her, he glanced at his brother and decided. Emily had broken her side of the deal, so their contract was void he had some witches to kill.
He left the house and walked to where he knew Shelia's house was located. He froze when he arrived at the spot where the house should be, it seemed in the week they had chosen to ignore the family they had updated the house. It was painted ivory and the yard was filled with blooming flowers the veranda seemed to meld with the garden. He confidently strolled up to the house and knocked on the door expecting Braelyn. He was a bit surprised when the man who sang with her opened the door, he guessed that this was Elion Bennett.
"Hi, I'm here to talk to Braelyn" he forced himself to look as calm and pleasant as possible only for the man to smirk at him. "Braelyn one of the vampire brothers is here for you" His smile was almost feral when he glanced at Damon and the vampire did not like it. Braelyn stepped into sight in a pair of jeans and a loose silk v-neck top that flashed a bit of her cleavage. Damon briefly let his eyes wander before looking back up at her unamused face.
"Ah Damon Salvatore the reason my grandmother is dead", the man flinched when he heard the detached but chilling tone that accompanied the statement. With the French doors open wide he could see into the now very open living room; his eyes fell on the large photo, and he felt fear. His actions had killed the head of the coven would they want retribution?
Braelyn just sighed and looked at the man he was attractive but not her type she liked men who would burn the world for her, she wanted a hunter who would forever stay by her side. Damon Salvatore was fickle to anyone that wasn't Elena Gilbert plus he used women like they were toys the man was a pedophile. Caroline Forbes was not immortal, but Damon Salvatore was 25 when he turned while the bubbly blonde was seventeen. She assumed Klaus was acceptable due to the fact he physically stopped ageing at 19 or possibly 20 in terms of physical age he was more appropriate.
Being an immortal made dating hard, but most were smart enough to stick to the age group closest to the age of when they were turned. She had no idea what was wrong with Damon, but she did not want him on her property. "Mr. Salvatore get off my property before I choose to put a stake through your heart"
To her surprise, the man did not even put up a fight and left her cousin glanced at her and started laughing "Imagine he is afraid of the coven" Braelyn just nodded and glanced at the sky and then to the book sitting open on the table. "Soon we will have to put up a barrier". After all, why would she let anyone become a threat to her family?
