He was not. Klaus could not handle Braelyn Bennett on his own she was too much of a woman. She commanded respect whenever she walked into the room. She was the centre of everyone's focus and the monster that plagued her enemy's dreams. She was a goddess, and he could not help but be in awe of her.

Luckily for Klaus, his goddess came, accompanied by a golden nymph. Caroline Forbes was the balancing factor both immortals needed. When Klaus met her, he suddenly understood why Braelyn had not lost her mind, waiting for him to appear. Both Klaus and Braelyn possessed ancient legacies intertwined with magic and bloodshed, powerful legacies that carried a heavy weight. It could drive the sanest person alive insane. People like them craved loyalty and the truth they loved with every part of their being.

Their love turned into an obsession, consuming a small part of them. Bennetts loved fiercely they were the sea beautiful and calm but, in a second, could become a watery grave. Open with unexplored depths, a Bennett in love would chain their lover down under the sea with them. God forbid someone hurt what was theirs. They would drown them without remorse.

Yet Braelyn was not only a Bennett, she had the blood of the Madikizela coven in her veins fire and water clashed but in Braelyn; the combination made her deadly. For her coven and lovers, she would burn the world.

Klaus was the blood of Esther and Ansel. He carried two powerful legacies, and often it would drive him mad. Not being able to access his wolf added to his temper and the magic running through him thanks to the spell that made him a vampire and binding his wolf's side often made him unstable.

Caroline, however, balanced out those the locked-away wolf could feel her presence and it calmed Braelyn's magic. She was their golden girl and the calming presence of the trio. She was their nymph, their shining star and the jewel in their realms. To her they were hers and only hers, the calming presence she may be, but she would wage war and bathe the blood of their enemies if anyone took them away from her.

The trio sat on the couch basking in each other's presence when Klaus growled, "Why is the Ripper screaming your name" Braelyn smirked and kissed his neck before walking into her garden. Stefan stood outside in a panic his hands shaking "Elena is gone can you please do a locator spell".

Braelyn stared blankly at the younger vampire, her facial expression unchanging before she leaned forward. "My payment?" she questioned in a husky but amused tone. Stefan jerked back before glaring at her with fury. "What do you want?" he spat. She could see that she had once again gotten under the vampire's skin, but Braelyn did not care.

Pulling her open out of her hair, she wrote a number and handed the slip to Stefan. The vampire glanced at her before leaving. Braelyn glanced at her watch and silently counted down the time before she got a call.

"Madam Bennett, Stefan Salvatore just wired you $700,000 as payment for your services. Should we mark this as a fraudulent exchange?"

Braelyn laughed before glancing at the previously empty spot where the vampire was now occupied. "No, my dear, he is paying for the same services I occasionally give your bank." There was a soft understanding hum before the call ended. Braelyn glanced at him and smirked. "I'll have her location in about two minutes.

Stefan watched as she entered the house his brows knitted together as he paced, the door flew open, and Braelyn walked over with a map and a piece of paper "Her coordinates and a map that will guide you to her" the witch smirked when he grabbed the items and dashed off.

Without Elijah being able to interfere, it was time for Klaus to make his debut. "Oh love," she sang before gliding inside, "I believe it is time for you to take a trip and compel a certain Ripper and the doppelgänger." Klaus and Caroline reluctantly pulled away from their lip lock to stare at Braelyn.

She let out a pleased hum before walking over to the two. Caroline shifted onto Klaus's left leg, allowing Braelyn to sit down. "What a pretty sight," she purred before pressing her lips against his. It was short, but incredibly tempting for both beings. "Go get your doppelgänger love".

Klaus reluctantly placed both women on the couch and left. Caroline slowly turned to Braelyn and licked her lip "There is a strong pull. He is attractive and powerful, but I have never gotten involved with someone so easily".

Braelyn nodded before leaning back. "It's the bond. Right now, think of it as a friend-with-benefits situation. That is very possessive. We will get to know each other much better as time passes." Her eyes fluttered shut as Caroline ran her hands through her hair.

"So unlike those horrible mate books where they fight the bond or accept it instantly. Or even were they wait before getting intimate. We are accepting the bond and the pull, but we are getting to know each other properly, no secrets." She teased before pressing a kiss to Braelyn's forehead.

The two basked in their peace and joy while knowing that their mate was causing havoc somewhere else near their small town.

Elion, however, was fully aware of what Klaus was doing, as the Original had roped him into his little game. He stood next to Klaus as the man compelled Elena to give blood and eggs at one of his medical centres. Just as he completed the compulsion Stefan bloody Salvatore appeared, Elion waved his hand and snapped the vampire's neck.

The whimper that the doppelgänger let out was amusing, but she could not do anything to save herself. Klaus then took out Stefan's phone and texted Damon, "Taking Elena for a trip to find some answers".

Elion, following the vampire's lead, sent a text to both Jenna and Jermey "I know that I was adopted, and I found a lead on my birth mum. Stefan is taking me. I will be home in a few days".

The two had learned at this point not to question the knowledge Braelyn had told them. After an hour Stefan woke up and Klaus once again began to compel the vampire. Elion rolled his eyes and slumped down in his chair. Three days with Klaus would be a major inconvenience if only he could have brought Adrienne with him.
