Mystic Falls High School was the worst place to be if you wanted peace, Elion Bennett craved peace. He was a powerful warlock who had obligations to his coven yet here he was in a high school applying for a job. All because of a stupid ring, he wanted to scream for the students to shut up. Why were they so loud in the first place? He was doing his best to look calm and put together ignoring the glances several female students gave him as he passed by. He hated teenagers. Entering the office, he gave a nod to the secretary before entering. The principal was old and clearly drained seeing Elion his eyes lit up.
"You must be our new Language teacher" Elion smiled brightly as he gave the man a firm handshake "Yes, I was rather surprised when my cousin informed me that you had a language faculty". As expected, the Principal immediately began to explain the finer details of the school and how certain areas overlapped "I see on your resume that you are a certified foreign languages teacher, but ten languages are a lot". Elion laughed and leaned back "We Bennetts make it a habit to know at least eight languages. And it's really eleven if you count Latin".
The small reminder of who exactly he was caused the principal to give him a sad smile "Yes, Shelia had a habit of cursing me out in Latin whenever I messed up a recipe" Glancing at the school schedule he nodded and focused on Elion "Your classroom will be opposite Alaric's he teaches American History". The two men left the office as the Principal gave him a tour before showing him the empty but spacious classroom he would be using. Then they crossed the hall and walked into the ongoing history class.
"Sorry to interrupt" Elena glanced to her right and paled when she saw Elion behind the principal "This is Mr. Bennett the new AP French Language and Culture/ AP Italian Language and Culture teacher. He will also be taking over the football team as their coach". Elion gave the students a nod before turning to Alaric and shaking his hand. Elena however was shaking in her seat she glanced at Stefan who had tensed and the two watched as Elion left. The bell could not ring quickly enough for Elena every minute in her seat felt like years. Her eyes glued to the door fear in her eyes as if Elion Bennett would just appear and take her.
Unknown to Elena and her vampire boytoy, Elion could care less about the doppelganger he was not attracted to her at all nor did he care about what happened to her. He lounged in his classroom his eyes glued to his laptop as he typed frankly the man was focused, he did not notice the couple and Alaric enter his classroom and lock the door. His magic however felt another Bennett and forced him to acknowledge them.
"Why are you in my classroom. I want nothing to do with the Ripper or the Doppelgänger they played a part in our Grandmothers death". The temperature in the room dropped as he glared at the two before turning to Alaric and raising an eyebrow "Care to tell me why you reek of Bennett's magic and wear a ring full of death magic".
Alaric now exchanged a heavy look with Stefan before speaking "It was a gift from my wife". Elion looked at him and then smirked "Then I guess she hated you" Stefan rolled his eyes "If you want the ring, you won't get it after all it's his only protection". There was silence and then Elion burst out laughing before he really looked at them and they all flinched.
Braelyn had a sort of elegant and dangerous aura wrapped in one she hid most of her aura due to it making most witches uncomfortable. Elion however was different, like his cousin he was wrapped in mischief and something almost sinister however he did not hide it and allowed it to show. Any being involved with the supernatural or of a supernatural heritage would be able to feel it for vampires they could see it.
"That ring after a few deaths tends to drive their wearers crazy and turns them into murderers. Death magic is dark and comes at a price. Emily Bennett made that ring for her lover when he betrayed her, she shifted the price from her to the wearers of her ring. Let's see how long it takes you to start killing founder families this time?"
A cruel smirk sat on his face as he watched his words settle in their brains. Unlocking the door and opening it for them to leave he smiled, before saying something softly that only Stefan heard. The group quickly walked back into the History classroom with pale faces. Elena glanced at her boyfriend "What did he say, Stefan?". The vampire glared at the ground hands curled into fists before he looked at the ring on Alaric's hand "Did you think such a thing came for free out of love. All magic has a price, and you will pay it with your sanity of course".
Alaric slipped off the ring with shaking hands and pocketed it, his face pale as he lowered himself into his chair. Stefan glanced at the man and sighed "It should have been expected Bennett witches only bend the rules of nature. That ring broke them we should have realised there would be consequences". Elena heard her heartbeat thumping loudly in her ears and tasted salt on her lips before the words left her mouth "Give it back Emily tends to haunt her gifts give it back" The two men watched the shaking doppelganger as she repeated the sentence like it was a prayer.
"I will after school Lena I promise".
Outside the classroom door, Elion smirked did they really think he would let them get away with disrespecting him? He felt pleased with himself and entered the staff room, the windows were open and the AC off he sighed and started shrugging off his blazer. Eyes followed his every move as he lowered himself into the chair and read through the expectations for his class. His hands combed through the long locks in boredom.
If it was not for the fact Braelyn said they needed someone to ensure the Scooby gang did not gain their own individual brain cells and do something that would mess up her plans. He trusted Braelyn plus if she did end up with Klaus Mikaelson that meant a baby from the Mikaelson and Bennett lines the perfect mixture of power and chaos and he wanted a baby Braelyn to spoil.
His smile faded when he sensed the other Salvatore brother nearby, those stupid baby vampires really thought everyone wanted their girl. She was frankly unattractive nothing about her drew him in but he had a taste for dangerous women who were in the grey morally that is.
