I woke up two hours before I needed to, the school opens at 7:10 but I got up at 5:00. I wanted to make sure I was prepared because I had to worry about not just myself but my brothers too. I had to make sure they both had their lunch, were ready, had all their stuff, I had to make sure that I had all that same stuff too but I wanted to look perfect.
I curled my hair and put it up into a high ponytail with a black bow and styled my curtain bangs. I put on a orange long sleeve shirt with black overalls with a star on the pocket, some bracelets, and black flats.

I did some very light makeup and called it done. Next was breakfast, my brothers would be waking up soon so I made French toast and eggs and set the table up for them.
I heard their alarms from the kitchen, Theo's was first. After a few minutes he came out of his room rubbing his eyes asking what smelled so good. Then Augusts went off, it took him significantly longer to come out of his room. He didn't say anything and just brushed past me and sat down and started eating. I quietly sat down by Theo.
We ate in silence for a very long time "Stacy?" August turned his head to me, the sudden break in silence made me jump.
"Yeah?"
"How much longer am I grounded for?" He sounded upset. Man I haven't even thought about that.
"Three. . -no four days." He sighed and went back to eating, I felt a pang in my heart. "Look if you are on your best behavior for the next couple days I'll unground you earlier." Mom has said the same thing to me and it has always worked and I hate having to ground him.
He immediately perked up "Deal!" I was happy he was happy and spent the rest of the meal in silence. When we finished I started cleaning but august took over for me. Well, that worked better than I thought it would. He cleaned the whole kitchen and then went back to his room to get dressed while Theo made his own lunch even though I offered to do it.
I spent the next 45-30 minutes running around the house making sure no one was forgetting anything, did everyone have lunch? Yes. Is everyone dressed and ready? Almost, "Theo hurry up!" Where are my keys? The table. What time is it? Time to go! I called out to my brothers and grabbed my bag and ran out to my truck.
August and Theo got in and I started the truck and pulled out the directions to the school from my glove box. Darry had written them down for me going from my house to the school. I carefully started driving checking every street and every turn. I reached the school and parked in the back of the parking lot next to Two-Bit's T-Bird.
"Alright are you two ready?" I turned to face my brothers
"I guess" Theo said
"Yeah actually, I have friends here so I'm kinda excited." August said
"Good! Now look, neither of you do anything stupid ok? Just follow the rules, Don't fight people. Don't skip. And please, for my sake, don't do anything illegal."
"Okay, mom" August mocked
"Okay. Got it." Theo said bluntly, he reached for the door handle got out and August followed behind him.
"And hey one more thing!" They turned around to face me "I love you!" They said it back and August closed the door and started walking off.
I stayed in the car for a minute just breathing getting my heart rate back down. I stepped out of the truck and started towards the school. Two-Bit told me to go to the lunchroom and find him at the table against the back corner and he'll "help me from there" whatever that meant. And I did, I followed the crowd of people heading towards a side door and walked into the very crowded room and was immediately overwhelmed.
I felt like everyone was staring at me even though the weren't and it was so loud. The closer I got to the back the rowdier it got, I eventually saw Two-Bit, Steve, and Ponyboy sitting at a table. Well Steve and Pony were sitting at the table but Two was actually sitting on the table.
I closed the space between me and the table "Hey she's here!" Two said
"Ye-" I was cut off by Two-Bit hopping off the table and rushing over to me
"What's your homeroom? Does the room number start with 3 or 4? When's your lunch wave?"
"I don't know, I don't know, and oh I don't know." I starred at him blankly "where do I get all that stuff?"
"At the front desk," he squinted at me "what door did you come through?" I pointed to the door I came through and he informed me that that was the side door everyone who came from parking lot C used.
There's three parking lots? I underestimated the size of this school, I mean when we moved here I thought it was going to be some small little one floor-20 classrooms kind of thing. But this place has three floors! I'm just glad it's all in one building, in San Francisco my school had like five buildings.
I followed him out of the cafeteria pass all the tables filled with various different clicks and friends groups, along the way he was telling me allllll about which people he did and didn't like. Apparently Two-Bit isn't as happy go-lucky and sunshine rainbows as I thought, he hates a good 85% of the school.
I got the the front desk and Two told me what to do and I, quite timidly, asked the lady for my schedule and told her my name and grade, she glared at me for a few seconds before flipping through a packet filled with names. She found mine then went over to a table further back that just had column after column of papers with sticky notes on top, she pulled a paper out of the middle of one and then hobbled back over to me she handed it to me. Then in her creaking voice yelled out "next!"
I went back over to Two and examined my schedule
1st period - Mr. Maggregor - Calculus 8:00-8:50
2nd period - Mrs. Smith - APGOV 8:55-9:45
3rd period - Mr. Young - Chemistry 9:50-10:40
4th period - Ms. Poling - Honors ELA 12 10:45-11:35
5th period - Ms. Blue - Home Economics 11:40-1:10 Lunch - 12:10-12:40
6th period - Mrs. Duing - Creative Writing 1:15-2:05
7th Period - Coach Hobart - Study Hall 2:10-3:00
I stare down at the paper. The names mean nothing to me but I still stare at them trying to memorize all of them. Finding all these is going to be a nightmare.
Two-Bit snatched the paper right out of my hands and examined it "Aw man you got all the best classes!"
I feel a bit excited "Really?"
"No!" He completely bursts out laughing "y-you" another burst of laughter "you have the most boring and hard teachers ever" he continued laughing.
I hit him on the head. "What was that forrrr?" He whines
"Laughing like a manic in the middle of the lobby on the first day of school." I really shouldn't be saying much I was laughing and smiling along with him but not as much.
*briiinnggggg* the bell rang signaling the ten minutes till first period started
"You want me to take you to first?" Two asks me
I looked over at him "Sure, do you know where it is?"
"Yeah, I have it too."
Well this is going to be a fun start to the day. . .
