Delta sat quietly on a ledge as he waited for his magic to charge below him. They had just finished a mission in one of the newer AU's, focused on making sure everything was stable and normal in that AU specifically.
They watched as the magic grew, forming a small circle below him, then expanding quickly into a portal.
"Let's hope I got it right this time," he mumbled to himself, then pushed themselves off the ledge they was sitting on, falling into the portal.
They closed their eyes as he fell through, focusing his magic on where he needed to go next. And, finally, they felt a shift, and the next portal opened for them.
He opened his eyes as he fell down from where the portal had been, landing easily on his feet. He checked quickly with his surroundings.
"Well, it looks like the right place," they muttered, grabbing onto a tree for stability. The constant portals made them dizzy sometimes.
He examined the area around him slowly, taking his time as he got adjusted, his bright orange eyes darting around quickly.
"Alright," they said to themself, "Which one am I in now?" He quickly took out his phone, activating a tracking check to figure out which one it was. And, luckily for him, it was the right one.
They smiled in relief, quickly teleporting himself up into a higher tree. He just needed to check on Underswap, not really interact with anyone unless something was wrong.
He pulled himself up onto a thicker branch so he wouldn't fall. They watched the ground, wondering if they'd be noticed. He somewhat hoped not. He was fairly tired.
Eventually, they saw Blue and his brother come out of their house. It was training day for them, so Delta enjoyed watching them train.
He examined as Blue trained his special attacks as his brother helped him, practicing his Blue magic and bone attacks. They stayed quiet, shifting positions every so often so that they wouldn't get too bored, fidgeting either his sweater or the branches around him.
Eventually, they got bored enough and pulled up the notes on their phone. He read over them quickly, but deemed them unneeded as of right now. They were notes on either the AU's, the personal notes they've taken on their friends so that they won't forget random details, or on wherever he needs to go next and what his mission is. And today, that mission is to find the backpack that he lost - again.
He sat there for a good few hours, just watching quietly, until they deemed it fine to move on. He did so quickly, summoning a portal to another AU, and walked through quickly.
When he arrived, they landed easily again, able to get their barrings fairly quickly as he looked around, holding onto a pillar to make it easier for him to be stable.
He peeked around the pillar into the Judgement Hall, examining which one he was in, taking note of the pillar changes and the way the windows looked.
They eventually saw who he was looking for. He smiled, coming out from behind the pillar.
"Hey Color!" He called out, walking towards their friend, acting quick before he got too suspicious. They stayed on the left to make sure Color was able to see them fully, knowing his right eye was a full blind spot.
Color flinched, as he hadn't heard them coming. He turned around and gave them a smile back, "Hey! What are you doing here? You need something?"
Delta shook his head, deciding to teleport and was now about a foot away from him. "No, not really, just checking in."
Color nodded, but glanced up above his head, "Remember to close that portal." He chuckled.
Delta quickly turned around to check if they did, and surely, they didn't. He sighed, quickly activating their magic and flicking his wrist. The portal disappeared.
